Le logement

We have a flexible check in policy. Just give 24 hours notice, and we'll make sure the door is open for you when you arrive.

You are reserving a queen bed in a shared basement room in a big tan house on Northwest Lovejoy. We have 5 roommates, so we're better suited for people who like a crowded house. This room is semi-finished, with blue cement floors and a medium sized rug. There are 2 queen sized beds, a night stand or desk, mirror, and a window that extends slightly above ground. There are two bathrooms which are shared. Free laundry services are available. There is a partial kitchen on the first floor with a cook top, small fridge and blender. We have a front porch that is nice to gather and relax during the summer.

I like to provide my guests with as much privacy as desired during their stay, and willing to do my best to make you feel comfortable during your stay. I'm also very friendly and will be around to offer directions and trip suggestions.

When you travel to Portland, discovering Nob Hill is an exciting part of the experience. You will find studio nestled in the center of the Nob Hill neighborhood, located minutes from downtown Portland and the Pearl District.

You will be surprised with the offerings that are provided on Northwest 23rd Avenue. The community is filled with local shops that have something for an entire range of tastes. Popular destinations include Powell's Bookstore, Hotlips Pizza, Bridgeport Brewing Company, Northwest Children's Theatre, Goose Hollow Tavern, Cinema 21, Oregon Jewish Museum, Laura Russo Gallery, Couch Park, and Jeld-Wen Stadium. My personal favorite is Salt and Straw, which offers the most intriguing ice cream flavors.

You can wake up in the morning and walk to one of the largest urban forests in America, which is one of the best perks of staying here. Portland's Forest Park is over 5,000 acres of serene, nature trails and sights. You can also access the great public transit in the Nob Hill neighborhood. Our home is very close to the street car, the MAX, and the 15, 17, and 20 bus stops are very reliable in getting you where you want to go. Zip Car and Car2Go are parked close by and I have a road bike you can borrow for free.

Please make sure to visit Nob Hill neighborhood in the Alphabet District, this definitely is a memorable place to explore.

Accès des voyageurs

You have access to all of Portland from our convenient central location. There are so many good eating places that we don't anticipate you using our kitchen - we do have a hot plate, blender and small refrigerator for your convenience. If you think you may need a full kitchen please let me know.

You may use the first floor and the basement room that you have reserved as well as the front and back yard.

The bath on the first floor is your primary bath and is stocked with air dried, crispy, towels, SENSE shampoo, conditioner, body gel, toothpaste etc. On occasions when you need a bathroom and the first floor bathroom is in use you may use the bathroom on the 2nd floor (it is also shared with those who live here. It is also stocked with the SENSE shampoo and conditioner that you may use. Bring your towel to the 2nd floor bath as there are no extras there.

Autres remarques

Most of the time I have saved bottles which you are welcome to use for water from the tap or the filter pitcher. We have good water. Recycle the bottles when you are done.

The towels are, weather permitting, air dried and crispy.

It is important to recycle and compost while here. This is Portland and Our garbage container is small.

We stay 3 nights at Cameron's, he's very welcoming and friendly but it's a shame we saw him just a few minutes. It's good to know that his roommates are not really welcoming. They didn't even know we were supposed to stay there.

Great location in Portland. Tons of restaurants, shops, and coffee houses within a 20 min walk. My favorite was the coffee...about 5 different shops close by. Downtown is a little further(maybe like 40 min walk?), but I kinda liked being on the outskirts of downtown, but I'm a quiet person. Lurelle is a great host, he always was telling me about different weekend/weeknight events going on, and knows the area really well. Fun person to talk to when you're at the house. The other 4 folks living in the house are super awesome also. I only really saw the others for a brief bit at night(they all work), but they'd always take a few mins to ask how my stay was going and listen to me ramble. Plus there's Poe the dog and his little green ball; super friendly pooch t always for everyone.

Honestly, out of the fifteen or more airbnb hosts that I have had, Lurelle was my favorite. It might help that I was staying for a few weeks compared to my usual 7-10 days. The house was comfortable. Everyone was very welcoming. The surrounding area was fun to walk around at night, food in the area was very good. Location is a short less than five minute walk to street car and any busses I needed to get. Never had any problems whatsoever. And I became good friends with the hosts Dog.

First time visiting Portland and I found this to be a great location. Really enjoyed the neighborhood and the shops nearby. I found the public transportation to be very convenient and nearby as well. Can't beat 5 bucks for an all day transportation pass. Lurelle was very welcoming and made the stay comfortable. He was also very flexible and accommodating to our arrival and departure times, which is a huge plus in my book.

The location of the house was great. 23rd St. is extremely walkable and there are a variety of bus lines nearby. The house essentially functions as a hostel where multiple people can stay at one time, and there is a chance that you may share the basement room with one other guest (no guest was there during my stay, but there was an empty bed with a curtain between the two beds). One other thing to note is that the basement bathroom does not have a sink. Lurelle was traveling during my stay, so we didn't have a lot of time to interact, but he did provide plenty of interesting literature and maps in the room. Overall a great launching pad to explore Portland.

À propos de Lurelle

Hi! My name is Lurelle, I have just returned from 24 days visiting Central America and staying at AIR BNB's. I hope your stay here in Portland will be as enjoyable as our many hospitable places were. I may be traveling some in which case you will chat and meet Linda.

I've lived here in Portland for 13 years. I love the culture, food, friendliness, and energy of the city. I enjoy walking out my front door and in 20 minutes I can be in the forest or in the city center, at the Rose Gardens or sitting in a fine restaurant. It all depends on which way you turn out the front door.

When traveling, I like to visit the beautiful cities across the United States and around the world. I enjoy the livable and walkable neighborhoods, eating in nice restaurants, exploring and buying chocolate. My favorite trips include Mexico beaches, The Grand Tetons, a small town BBQ in Texas, Italy, Norway and many others .

My other interests include: walking, hiking, yoga, reading, cooking, and travel . I have learned some Spanish on the beaches of Mexico and working in the back of an ambulance along the Mexico/California border.
