We were very disappointed by Pauline. Here is our little story.
We were traveling from Tokyo to France and we just had to stop by Barcelona for one night. So, we planned our arrival with her two weeks before. She was very nice and organized, making sure we would be received properly. She agreed about us arriving around 00:30 this night, saying that she would arrive around the same time (she would be on vacation at that time) and implying that someone would be there anyway to open the door for us. So, we were not worried.
On the the D-day, after 24 hours of traveling by train, plane and waiting in airports, without any sleep, we finally made it to her door around 1 AM (our plane was late), exhausted and looking forward to have some sleep. When we landed in Barcelona, we received a text from her, saying that her plane was late (too) and she was sorry. She said we could ring the doorbell if we got there before she did. That what we did, but nobody answered. We tried to contact her several time and she didn't reply, because she was flying. She finally answered saying that she's sorry, she's coming and that we should wait for her. In total, we had to wait for one hour, from 1 AM to 2 AM, in the street, completely exhausted. We didn't know at all that nobody would answer, because she never told us. How can you get money from hosting people at your place if you're not even there to welcome them? We paid for a service we didn't get properly.
Luckily, once we got to the appartment, she was nice, feeling sorry and the accommodation was great. But she did a big mistake and we spent almost 60 euros for 5 hours of sleep (with all the anger you can imagine) just because she said yes to our reservation! If it was so difficult to receive people that night, we would have understood it and she could have simply said no. But it's always better to earn 60 euros, isn't it?
Anyway, Pauline seemed like a nice person and her apartment is great, but be careful with the organization if you rent the room!
