Le logement

Farm to Fork Retreat is a unique eco-retreat destination that practices holistic healing, sustainability, education and retreats. We are located in the drift-less area near Mondovi, WI directly on the beautiful Buffalo River. We offer 15 acres of wooded trails, 4 acres of organic gardens, kayaking, canoeing, 9-hole Frisbee Golf, sauna, classes & retreat stays.

This posting is for the private West-side 2,000 square unit that has 5 bedrooms, a large living room, dining room, kitchen, upper deck overlooking the Buffalo River, and lower level deck that peers out to the organic gardens and a private bathroom with laundry.

We just renovated our horse barn for use for family reunions, weddings, events, or team building retreats. The barns houses a full service "Milk House Bar" where local beers such as "The Brewery Projekt" are on tap with a Lemon Basil Beer made from the basil of our farm. Also local wines from "Bemus Bluffs" and "Infinity Beverages" are available.

We have a Wood-Fired Pizza oven in the barn as well for those desiring a pizza made with ingredients from our organic gardens. We offer a Thursday night Pizza night with live local music from 5-9pm, May-Oct. But we can always fire up the oven on the weekend as well, just let us know.

Our 4 acres of organic gardens offer guests a farm to fork experience that focuses on seasonal eating. We grow and produce about 70% of what we eat, and the rest we purchase from our friends and neighbors. The retreat has 15 acres of wooded hiking and skiing trails that wind along a quarter mile of the very private Buffalo River. Great for kayaking, canoeing, and a dip in the river on a hot day or after a wood stove sauna session. We have kayaks and a canoe available for rent onsite. We have a 9-hole Frisbee Golf course onsite, along with horse shoes and other yard games. There is also nearby access to biking, horse riding, ATV, and snowmobile trails. We also have an off-the-grid Monolithic home powered on solar. Tours by request.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We live in a Monolithic Dome home that is located on the property. We will be present on the property, but the retreat location is very private and away from our dwelling, so we can be interactive, or not, which ever is the guests desire. If wish to come to the Barn for Pizza, Beer, Wine or camaraderie, we would love to have you join us.

Autres remarques

Farm to Fork Retreat also offers event space for family reunions, weddings and events. We have a newly remodeled barn that seats 125 people. We cater seasonal gourmet cuisine and wood-fired pizzas. Make your event a retreat.

We use natural, homeopathic healing practices, and offer health and nutritional consultations and evaluations. Asian facial, hand and body evaluations are used to determine what the bodies organs are saying.

People who come here find that it is a very healing and peaceful place for them to rediscover themselves. Nature has a way of touching the soul, bringing it sunshine when in need. The location, plus the combination of the highly mineralized organic food, adds to an experience that many have never had.

We had a great time and was able to enjoy some peace and quiet out on the back porch with the river in the back round. Really enjoyed the scenery

It is not an entire home. There is a duplex attached, which could be occupied while you're there. The hosts were not there to greet us, we so thought we had the entire home as listed, but after talking with Dennis about the misunderstanding, he agreed not to charge us for the extra space. The house is very spacious. There is only 1 bathroom for the 5 bedroom space though. The home made pizza and beer was an extra bonus, which we enjoyed while playing outdoor games which were provided. We will definitely be back, but would make sure the other space is not rented out.

The pizza is really delicious! Definitely make good use of the Milk Bar and Pizza on nights that it's open. Open Mic night is a blast. Plenty of linens at the house. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were a group of 6 adults and 7 kids, so the one bathroom thing was tough, but we managed. They have a couple bathrooms near the retreat center that helped when an emergency arose :) If you're in from out of town, definitely check out Alma, about 20-30 minutes away. Cute river town along the Mississippi with lots of shops a great view from Buena Vista. The fireworks on the 4th were AMAZING. Totally exceeded our expectations. If you're hoping to pick your own veggies and such, be sure to check with Dennis first, because the gardens left a lot to be desired while we were there. Kitchen was well stocked with essential cookware and server ware. There is air conditioning, but it's one big unit, so you need to have doors open to get the air moving. The lower level stayed pretty cool, but the bedrooms upstairs got really hot. Be mindful if you have little kids and the windows are open on the 2nd floor as the screens are not very sturdy. Dennis was easy to get ahold of during our stay and was very helpful. If you're a runner, there is a trail right down the road from the Lodge that goes for miles and miles!

The location is really spectacular. Right on the buffalo river, it's incredibly scenic. Having the pizza barn nearby was a special treat, and meeting Dennis and the crew working the barn was a blast. Looking forward to staying here again.

Our group of 12 really enjoyed the Farm to Fork. We were to early to benefit much from the garden, but the pizza was great, as was Thursday night open mike night. The house sits overlooking the Buffalo River. Real peaceful, Unfortunately it was close to flood stage while we were there, but we had fun pitching horseshoes, threw the football around, played disc golf, and spent some good time with the good people at the retreat. It's not fancy, but more of a character driven place, which was our groups style. Thank again Dennis, Melanie, Jake, Dani, Kori, Andi, & Wally
