Easy access to picturesque nature trails and quaint villages. A renown spa and eco friendly medical center, Biosalud, is within a 20 minute drive. So are the hot springs of Paipa. Our home is located centrally within the cultural and historic mosaic that is the Boyaca department. Located on the Cundiboyacence high plateau, the alpine scenery more closely resembles the Swiss alps than the tropical landscape that comprises most of the country. Visit centuries' old towns that witnessed the march of South America's founding father, Simon Bolivar, as you savor the rich cultural heritage left behind by Spanish colonists and the intriguing pre-Columbian civilization that inhabited the area.

The house's groundskeeper is a local and trusted woman that lives a peaceful and easygoing life nearby. She will be the main point of contact for guests and will assist with tasks such as lighting the fireplace and wood oven in the kitchen as well as the preparation of breakfast. She loves meeting foreigners and although her English is limited, hospitality is a language known by all and she is quite proficient. I will also be available virtually for any assistance that you may require during your stay.
What is there not to love? The peaceful countryside, the clarity of the night sky, being able to hear nothing except for the occasional bird and the rustling of a mountain breeze. For the adventurous, the nearby mountain is climbable, although we highly recommend that you take a local tour guide. Bird watchers galore, this region is home to an ever changing variety of migratory and local birds. There is something special to be found here for everyone.
There are intermunicipal buses and cabs available in the nearby town but we advise you to rent a car in Bogota. Directions are quite simple from the airport. Travel to the house is fast and pleasant once you escape the capital's often heavy traffic on the new Bogota-Duitama expressway.
You must not miss out on the local specialty of wood grilled trout. Raised nearby by a local clergyman, the trout are bought fresh from the local supermarket and seasoned with the house's own rosemary as well as other local spices and prepared on the grill by our groundskeeper. For those who are curious as to the livelihood of a local farmer, she is more than happy to show you her nearby home and her beloved livestock. If you are daring, I recommend you bring a cup with you so you can savor a cow's milk fresh out of the udder. You have not lived until you have drank fresh milk from a happy, healthy cow. Her range free chickens also provide incredibly delicious eggs. Our groundskeeper is also a talented basket-weaver and will have various items for sale.
We expect guests to treat our home as they would treat their own, with respect and care. This is a place for relaxation and peace, and it is best accustomed for that. We outright prohibit excessive consumption of alcohol as well as any drug usage on the property and we reserve the right to contact the local authorities in that eventuality. Besides that, there are no rules!
