Situated in the picturesque centre of Ceret, with its vibrant Catalan culture, Apartment Joslin provides all your needs to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment has an open plan living space with a well-equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. Two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds, are served by a walk-in shower room with WC and hand basin. (An additional sofa bed is available). The light and airy dining and sitting area opens on to a long balcony overlooking the Boulevard du Marachal Joffre.
Towering plane trees create a cool, relaxed atmosphere during warm, languid summers. Breathtaking surroundings attract artists, poets and musicians. The Musee d'Art Moderne celebrates Picasso, Dali, Braque and many other famous artists and exhibitions change regularly. Ceret continues to inspire artists who welcome visitors to their studios and galleries in the town. Cafes and bars spill out onto the pavements and good restaurants offer an excellent choice of local cuisine.
The Ceretan people are warm and friendly. Every Saturday throughout the year there is a lively street market and, on Tuesdays during the summer months, a magical night market. The Ceret calendar has plenty to offer. February is filled with Mimosa, March is Carnival Time, cherry blossom in April and the Cherry Festival in May. Celebrate the Festival de Musique in June and enjoy the Feria in July and the Festival de Sardanes (the traditional Catalan dance).
There is a traditional rhythm to the town, the church bell tolls, punctuating the day. People are up early, setting up stalls, cafes and restaurants and opening shops for fresh bread and produce. Musicians pass by, stopping at the cafes and bars to entertain. Artists capture the sunlight through the magnificent plane trees .
Lunch is served, good humour and laughter fills the air. Shops begin to close and Ceret quietens for an afternoon snooze. Refreshed, shutters re-open and afternoon/evening trade begins. Enjoy a cool aperitif or simply choose a restaurant for the evening. For the more active you can swim in the Mediterranean, walk in the mountains, shop in Perpignan, go to Spain for the day and visit the extraordinary 'Dali Museum' in Figueres (40 mins away) or even take a trip to Barcelona, a mere two hour drive away. All that Ceret offers will still be waiting for you when you return.
