À propos de ce logement
Superb views, private balcony, overlooking the beach. Beautiful apartment located in a small seaside Croatian town. Relax and enjoy the stunning Adriatic overlooking the Peljasic Peninsula and the islands or a day visit to Dubrovnik or Split. We like nothing more than to sit and watch the sun go down over the Peninsula in the evenings after a day swimming, relaxing, some shopping and a little sightseeing. There is so much to do here but then again you can also do absolutely nothing!!
The apartment is wonderfully located with first position to the sea - in a small fishing village on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. Nestled peacefully right on the Adriatic sea, the apartments have wonderful views of the Dalmatian Islands – Miljet, Korcula, Hvar and Brac and the Peljasic Peninsula – with vineyards and picture perfect towns and villages dotted along the sea shore. Komarna is a perfect touring base for so many daily excursions in and around the Dalmatian coast of Croatia most of which we have documented and have left in the apartment for you to review and choose yourself. There is so much to do in the area and a little further afield that it is hard to get everything in – the great islands, waterfalls, historic cities in Croatia and Bosnia and Roman ruins! Let me know if you need any advice or information on the many things to do in the area.
The apartment sits right on the village promenade which makes for a wonderful morning or evening walk – just after or prior to a little dip or hearty swim in the sea. A perfect way to start or end your day.
We have two apartments which take over the entire floor of the apartment complex and can be rented as individual apartments (one 1 bedroom and one 4 bedroom) or combined for those special family get-togethers like special birthdays or anniversaries.
Komarna is in southern Croatia – with a coastline and views very similar to the southern coast of Italy. The weather is the same also – lots of long hot summer days, very little if any rain and beautiful breezes coming in from the sea. Dubrovnik is to the south of Komarna and requires a pass through the border with Bosnia – via Neum, a great town for restaurants and shops. Ston is on the Peninsula and is certainly worth a visit – it’s very like a ‘little Dubrovnik’ with fantastic salt! We always pick up a box of Ston salt on our visits there – fabulous to cook with. Of course Zadar and Split are two great cities to visit and they lie to the north, as is Mostor (with a fantastic new shopping mall!) in Bosnia.
Although Croatian wine isn’t as known or respected as Italian or French it is certainly improving all the time. Over the last 10 years we have been travelling to Komarna there has been a noticeable increase in the number of vineyard planting in the area. Komarna now has it’s own vineyard which is a must see. It’s very close to the apartment and they have wine tasting sessions on-going throughout the year – a real treat! Check out the website (URL HIDDEN) for details. The Peninsula is dotted with vineyards and more and more are opening their doors to wine tasting and purchasing direct – most will also sell red wine vinegar and some of the best olive oil in area – we pack our bags with oil every time we visit and reminisce about our great holidays each time we open the bottle!

The apartments are part of a larger complex and has a fully equipped team of people to cater to your needs from arrival through to departure – these guys are there to help and can offer advice on tours, things to do as well as additional help on daily practicalities if and when you need it during your stay. I am also available anytime before or during your stay so please don't hesitate to contact me if there is something you need help on.
There is a bus service that passes through Komarna, twice a day between Split (to the north) and Dubrovnik (to the south) and a more regular local service to the nearest local large town, which has lots of nice shopping and restaurants. If you are looking to do some sightseeing and excursions or getting to and from the airports then we would recommend you hire a car.
I would like you to enjoy and to respect the apartment and to treat it as if it was your own - if you do smoke perhaps you can just smoke on the balconies! Thank you!

I am a mum living in the West of Ireland - in Galway, raising 4 boys with my hubby. Life is always hectic and just seems to be getting busier as the boys get older! We started going to Croatia when our eldest was 15 and the youngest was a year old and that was over 10 years ago. Over that time we have seen a lot of changes in Croatia - including entry into the EU, and an almost re-awakening in the country to the possibilities of Croatia becoming a holiday destination in Europe. Lots of things have improved over these last 10 years including the food! There is a better infrastructure in place now for tourists and it is becoming a lot easier to get around and enjoy the country.
I love to travel - I spend time in the US, the UK and travelling around Ireland. I have been to most countries in Europe - my next destination is the East - I have never been further east than Croatia and I would love to travel to China / India / New Zealand and Australia - they are all on my do to list. So I will be kept busy!
My life motto - none of us will be doing this a second time round, so get out there and enjoy!
