Our home is steeped in the history and tradition of East Sullivan and was previously the site of the Acadia View Lodge during the earlier part of the last century. Over the past sixteen years we have completely renovated it in a way that captures the idyllic and unique ambiance of maritime Maine.

Our house features three upstairs private rooms for rent on a daily basis:

1. The Log Cabin Room- Farm and Forest View- Approx.$80-90

(website hidden) Harbor Lights - Mountain, Bays and Bar Harbor Views-Approx. 80-$90

Lighthouse Room- Approx. $60-$70 ( exceptions apply)

Each room offers a queen-sized bed with luxury bedding, towels, shared bath with shower/tub, hairdryer and sundries, internet, and access to a brochure stand and hospitality table. You are also welcome to rest on our beautiful front porch.

Our spread includes an apple and pear orchard, fenced kitchen garden with herbs, raspberry plants, blueberry patch and grape arbor, potatoes and corn planting in season and various wildflowers including Lupine, Daisies and Tansy.

Guest Room, Upstairs Bathroom, Hospitality Table, Front Porch.

We are happy to meet and great you and provide as much help as possible in getting around the area during your stay. If there is anything that you need we hope you will just ask and will be happy to accommodate in any way we can.

Please note that we have a dog; a cockapoo named Barkley who is non allergenic.

We are located amongst several charming fishing villages and you can walk to the lobster shack at the end of our street for a full Lobster Maine dinner, Lobster or Clam Roll, or even just an ice cream cone. There are several excellent full service restaurants in the Schoodic Area which we can happily refer you to. Kayak and bike rentals are available for touring the Acadia National Park at nearby beautiful Schoodic Point. Or take a day trip by Ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor across Flanders Bay and Frenchman's Bay beyond. Explore our many local ponds including Tunk Lake, Little Tunk Pond or Donnell Pond run by the State of Maine where you might catch site of a moose! Or Climb Schoodic Mountain for breathtaking views.

There are two large driveways one of which can accommodate a camper. But you will need a vehicle to get around in rural Maine. There is a Ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor in season.

Our Air BnB is designed for the active traveler who is out and about, for the most part, during the morning and afternoon hours. Sometimes we have to run errands briefly during the day but we always work with our guests as to their daily plans if that involves leaving or arriving particularly late or early for whatever reason.

Our philosophy is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. After sixteen years as residents we have the lay of the land in Downeast Maine and have sampled most of the fun outdoor activities that you will be wanting to enjoy. We love to help and to be a resource for you whether it is finding a restaurant, or helping with a recommendation on the best Kayak guides around. We also have an abundance of books and brochures on the various hikes, and of course all of the many recommendations of our guests!

You will need a car in rural Maine. The road trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park is approximately 30-40 minutes of exquisite, tranquil views of the Mountains, Bays and the rocky coast of Maine. We live between the Scenic Byway and old Route 1 on Flanders Bay (Grange Hall Road),so that says it all!! However there is a Ferry to Bar Harbor from Winter Harbor, a small fishing village nearby, if you would rather travel that way. A Lobster Shack is within walking distance to our home.

We have plenty of parking in our two large driveways.

3. Room set up for two adult guests.
4. We cannot provide kitchen privileges

Our stay here was an experience in itself. The house is beautiful, situated in a peaceful part of maine in a scenic location - "a million dollar view". We had a lovely time just sitting at the porch, sipping some tea, and chatting with Marion and Pat. They are a lovely couple and have fantastic memories with the house. It makes us feel special to be a part of their journey. On our last night we just stayed home did some stargazing. We were so happy that we did not stay at bar harbor packed with other tourists. We both recommend this stay to anyone who wants a relaxed vacation in maine.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Marion and Pat's house. We had one of the 4 bedrooms at the top of the stairs. It was wonderful meeting other kind and interesting travelers from around the world. There was never an issue with being able to use the bathroom when needed, even though it was shared by 4 couples. They provide a coffee maker conveniently outside the bedrooms and fresh fruit or homemade bread every day. Our bed was very comfortable and the room was beautiful. The "Bar Harbor Lights" view out the front window is picture perfect! Their property is gorgeous and the location is excellent, very convenient for visiting the lovely Maine coast and yet only about a 15 minute drive to a cute city that has everything you need. Marion and Pat are excellent hosts- in fact we have never had better and they were very interesting and helpful. They shared a tremendous amount of info about the area and had many great recommendations. Our first trip to Maine(for 4 days)was unforgettable and we would love to return and stay longer next time.

The rooms which Marion & Pat have made available to AirBnB guests are very comfortable and well kept. The hosts went out of their way to ensure that our visit went smoothly, without any problems or issues. The atmosphere of their home was both inviting and inclusive as well as being private and secluded simultaneously. While we stayed there, we were among other guests that were being housed as well - and the building is spacious enough that we didn't have any issues of overcrowding. The separate bathroom - which is dedicated specifically to the needs of the AirBnB guests who stay upstairs - was well kept, clean, and inviting. The necessary travel accessories - such as towels, wash-cloths, clean bed-sheets, and comfortable pillows were all of excellent quality and presented with care. Of equal importance - the morning coffee and breakfast snack which were provided each day were an excellent combination to help with starting the day. The hosts were both communicative and kind - and they each possessed a dedicated sense of commitment to making us feel comfortable and at home. When we were first checking in to our room, it was apparent that we were in good hands - with a commitment to open communication on the behalf of our hosts about the details of our arrival. On a similar note, when we returned to our lodgings late at night a couple of times, the interactions surrounding these events were natural and unimposing. I highly recommend staying in this couple's home which serves as a dedicated AirBnB rental. The surrounding areas of Maine are absolutely beautiful, and the location of this spot is remote enough to be comfortably secluded - but also accessible to nearby points of interest via a short drive. We had a great time, and I feel that you should be confident and comfortable within your choice to stay with Marion & Pat.

Pat and Marion were our first Air BnB hosts. Upon arriving, Marion took my girlfriend to show her our bedroom as Pat spoke to me about his home and property grounds. Both of them were so friendly and made us feel at home. My girlfriend approached me after the tour and said, "our bedroom is perfect." The entire house and property was perfect. The landscaping of the home and the accommodating outdoor furniture gives anyone who stays here the opportunity to catch some of that down east Maine breeze. The inside of the home was spotless. Everything from the decor to the room size was so soothing, it was a relief to know the next three days will be comfortable. Marion made a snack for breakfast everyday. The fresh fruit, Wild Blueberries, cinnamon toast, spice cake and her amazing Carrot cake whoopie pies were nostalgic. Coffee was readily available every morning and the ability to come and go as we please was soothing. We slept with the windows open and had a great nights sleep, every night. Mornings were filled bird songs as Pat and Marion let us in on all the local hot spots and great sites. Pat and Marion were wonderful hosts, should we return to the area they will definitely be at the top of our list to stay in their beautiful home. Thanks for the wonderful experience Pat and Marion!

Marion and Pat were wonderful hosts. They were there to greet us when we arrived and had plenty of suggestions for places for us to go and things to do. The room was extremely clean and well kept and had a fabulous view of Acadia's Cadillac Mountain. The shared bathroom was never a problem with the other guests and it was also immaculately clean. One of my favorite parts about staying here was the coffee station located right outside the room. It provided a fantastic way to start the day because we could take our coffee down and sit on the porch to enjoy the morning view. Marion also provided little trinkets of fresh home baked goods or fruit each morning for us to enjoy, what an unexpected surprise! We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend anyone traveling to the area to stay with Marion and Pat. They have created a spectacular home away from home!
