Host's Review: if you are someone who wants sunshine to fall on your face every morning, this room is for you. It's facing direct south. It comes with not only a own bath, but also fully equipped with desk, big wardrobe and heating & cooling system.
★ Detached highrise apartment! What better way to experience modern and old Shanghai than staying in an authentic and modern building, in a central location just nearby the Huangpu riverbank, yet on a safe, quiet and historical area, with attractions, food, shopping and public transportation? The area was the most famous slum of Shanghai in the old days so you can truly feel the contrary in between the old town and new town in the new era. 20% of the area still has old Shanghainese residing in the old floor level houses and the Shanghai Ghetto are just blocks away that you can portray with your camera.
★ The Room
Furthermore, the luxury of the room in a 3 bedrooms and 2 baths shared apartment at this price point is very rare in a top rated location in town. Lots of fun shopping, cafes and restaurants within short walking distance.
Large main bedroom with queen-sized bed, wardrobe, desk, chair and home furniture. Pet free, smoke free household. Living and dining rooms, kitchen and laundry room. Fast WI-FI and extended IPTV with 100+ channels and on-demand movie broadcasting service (free of charge). Let me know if you want to order a VPN access to int'l website such as (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) because China Government blocks them. The bathroom has a shower/bath and toilet and you will have supply of towels for your use. You will also find the usual toiletries, and yes there is even a hairdryer.
★ Your Roommate
Our long-term hosting apartment typically have guests at their 20s or 30s, with interesting personality and sociable. So you're sharing the common space such as kitchen, living room, etc with a friend, rather than a stranger. You can even meet and talk to them before extend it for a really long-term lease.
I've enjoyed meeting every one of our guests who have stayed with us, and this won't be any difference. On arrival, I will be there to welcome you in and take you through the necessary details of the apartment, the building and the area. Depending on your energy level, I would be happy to take you on a quick tour of the neighbourhood to get your bearings.. But I totally understand if you just want to kick back, relax and prepare for the following few days.
If you need anything while you're here, I'm just living in the same area so I'm close by, so I can not only greet you in person, but also communicate extensively via text or email and am always available by phone.
★ Nothing is Off Limits
Guests have the whole space to use as they wish. Washing machine, cooking appliances are ready for use. We also provide ONE set of essentials (towels, bed sheet, toilet paper & tooth brusher), shampoo and shower gel, fresh & clean! Air conditioner with cooling & heating function so you have a comfort temperature in the apartment.
Also, there is a Sport Center closed to the compound. With gym facility, sauna, tennis courts, and a 25 meter swimming pool. Per entry costs 40-50 RMB depending on weekday or weekend. While family gatherings are fine, no parties allowed.
★ Getting Around
Shanghai may be a city for those that love to walk, and this location is perfect to do just that. However, there is the metro station around the corner. Tourist attractions like the Bund, 1933 “Creative Hub” (a former slaughterhouse that’s been transformed into a large space for art, music and restaurants), Oriental Pearl Tower, Pudong Financial Center (Lujiazui), Nanjing Road, Xintiandi, Tianzifang, People Square and Yu Garden are all accessible from here.
If you need to go to cities nearby for sight seeing, such as Wu Zhen (乌镇), Hangzhou (杭州), I can also help order car service. The car capacity is 4 person in one car. The one-day trip can start in early morning and back at night.
If you want to have a relaxed day you can indulge in a traditional Chinese massage just in a nearby street. They also do manicures… Maybe a foot massage if you've walked a little much ;-)
★ 2-day minimum stay in the system just for search purpose, and I certainly prioritize those who stay longer. Our typical staying period is 3-6 months. My guests invariably have just loved staying at my apartments, and they have expressed it in my many reviews.
★ Getting to the apartment from the 2 major airports is easy. If you have some company, taxi is the direct method (cost ~20 EUR by meter and it goes a bit higher after 11pm). If you are one person and on budget, you can take meglev train to Longyang Lu Station which is closed to center and inter-change to metro line 2 and then to line 4. We are at Linping Lu Station at Line 4. Then take exit 4. Or, just take a direct taxi to our address from Longyang Lu Station.
★ I'll arrange ayi a time to come over (after agreeing with you on a convenient time of course) to do a entire apartment cleanup/make sure all stock is fine.
If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to drop me a line and we will get back to you very quickly. I speak English and Chinese.
Look forward to hearing from you soon..

Hello, I'm Lisa, a young girl living and working in Shanghai. I am outgoing and friendly, fond of people, traveling & food :) I worked as a Skincare Shop Manager before starting the "hosting idea" in 2013 and Airbnb in 2014. It is a delighted experience showing my guests morden and old sides of Shanghai, giving them a "live like a local" experience. Since 2013, over 3,000 travelers / expats from 50+ countries have lived with us, short-term or very long-term. I appreciate all their insights on life, work and many aspects of things. So it would be great if you can help me know a bit about you before a booking!
We can reach much more than a hotel as highlighted (aka. if you're looking for) below:
-A fully furnished space to stay in city heart with short reach to major sites and easy transport access;
-A sweet and experienced host who has lived years abroad to handle all your expectations;
-A chance to befriend with other cool shared apartment guests and hang out around;
-A well compiled booklet to travel as a local.
1. "Do you host elsewhere in the city?" - Not yet. In order to provide the best hosting experience, all our private rooms are in the same location (managible radius) strategically closed to the Bund and major sites of the city. Cloest metro is Linping Lu Station (临平路站) at Line 4 and Hailun Lu Station (海伦路站) at Line 10. Read our comment to check how great the location and everything else are.
2. "Can I / my friend come over to visit first?"
i) For stay of over one month, you can come for a visit beforehand. But to ensure room availability, we suggest you to book two weeks to check out the environment and roommie(s) before a decision to stay really long-term. But:
ii) For stay of less than one month, we cannot arrange it due to capacity. Reviews from 50+ guests and photos taken by Airbnb photographer can be a very good reference for your judgement.
4. "Can I check in in the morning or leave in the afternoon/evening?" - Normal check in time is 2 p.m. and check out time is 12p.m. We can help keep your luggage in storage before check-in time or after check-out time. If the room is not occupied or to be occupied, we can arrange it more flexibly for you.
5. "What else do I share with others after booking the private room?" -Our apartments are fully furnished. You will be sharing the common facility such as washing machine, refrigerator etc with 0-2 other roommies. You will have an own bath if you book a master bedroom.
6. "Good internet?" -YES! Internet is stable and fast but you need a VPN to access foreign sites such as (website hidden) and (website hidden). If VPN is important to you, please send us a note so we can arrange you to a room with this provided.
