Although I was born and brought up in Scotland I now live in Shropshire so am unable to meet guests when they arrive. I have a wonderful neighbour that looks after the cottage for me who is usually available should you need her.
I will always be available through messaging or by phone to give support where needed.
Kenmore is a small village in Perthshire, which is a popular centre for activities on Loch Tay.
This beautiful village is at the northern end of the14-mile long Loch Tay. It's great for activities on and around the Loch itself, such as sailing, canoeing, water-skiing, jet-biking, or for the more leisurely, fishing or golfing! There's a couple of local Hotels and The Courtyard restaurant, so plenty choice for eating out. And if you're looking to buy gifts or great fresh local produce, pop into The Courtyard shop.
The main attraction is the Scottish Crannog Centre, one of the country's top heritage sites where you can discover what life was like over 2500 years ago! This reconstructed thatched wooden house is built on stilts over the water, with a gangway that would have been lifted up in the event of danger.
Public transport is limited and a car is essential to get out of the village area. Please remember from September to March there might be snow so please bring snow chains during these months.
UP TO DATE ACCURATE WEATHER INFO FOR ABERFELDY REGION:
UK rescue teams are asking walkers to download the free Ordnance Survey Locate app to their phones before heading into the hills. The app quickly provides you with an accurate grid reference, which could be very useful if you need to be located in an emergency. It's a great bit of technology, although it's still important to carry a map and compass - and know how to use them!
