Description

Room with breakfast, quiet area, close to good transport links to city centre, Aintree, Anfield & Everton. Close to motorways to the Lakes, Preston, Manchester and the Wirral. Please read details of directions from airports and major train stations.

The room we offer is a converted loft space with comfortable double bed overlooking the garden to the rear of the house. An extra small single bed can be provided if required and we have a travel cot suitable for babies and toddlers.
There are two bathrooms available - one on the ground floor with bath and shower and one on the first floor with walk in shower.

Guests can have shared access to comfortable lounge with tv and wood burner also to kitchen with all modern equipment. There is also a further bathroom available to guests who might prefer a bath to a shower.

Interaction can be as required, as much or as little as the guests feel comfortable with. You can feel free to stay private or interact with our family as you choose. We will be present during your stay.

The area of Blundellsands is delightful and quiet with a selection of shops and restaurants within walking distance and close proximity to the beach (15 minute walk). Crosby featured in The Sunday Times’ Best Places To Live list 2013. The two-part guide looked at transport links, quality of schools, natural beauty, low crime rate, property prices, cultural life and unemployment figures when making its decision. Crosby was picked out for praise for its world-famous art installation 'Another Place' by artist Anthony Gormley which is well worth a visit. There is a local community cinema, leisure centre and water sports facility all in close proximity. Liverpool city centre has more museums and art galleries than anywhere outside of London, a wealth of historic buildings, a large retail area and hundreds of restaurants and food outlets.

Public transport is excellent. For the football stadiums there is a frequent train service to Sandhills station (journey time 15 mins) where there is then a 'soccer bus' which runs for 2 hours before kick off and for 50 minutes after the final whistle. For the city centre attractions there is a frequent very reliable train service 5 mins walk to the station and journey to city centre time 20 mins. Also trains run to the historical city of Chester which takes about an hour and the beautiful seaside resort of Southport journey time 25 mins. From John Lennon airport there is a bus and train service and from Manchester airport the motorway route takes 40 minutes and there is also a national express coach ( book (email hidden)) or trains from Manchester airport to Liverpool Lime Street or Liverpool South Parkway. The famous Aintree race course home of the Grand National is a 35 minute train ride away.

Breakfast available will be tea, coffee, juice, cereal or porridge and toast. Fresh eggs from our own chickens also available mostly at weekends. If you have special requirements, please let us know and we will try our very best to accommodate them. Vegans and vegetarians more than welcome we hope to cater for everyone .

My wife and I had a good time at Pauline's. She's a great host, very communicative in the build-up to our check-in, cooks a lovely breakfast and made our stay very comfortable. The location is also well placed for getting to the Crosby beach and Formby National Trust.

I am a mother of 4 and grandmother to 5 grandsons and our latest addition is a granddaughter. I am currently working at a high school as a design and technology technician. I live with my husband Paul and my youngest daughter Sophie who is 15 years old. I enjoy baking and hopefully if you're around you can sample bread, scones, muffins or carrot cake. I also enjoy sewing and have just started clothes making again, as making my own clothes seems a much better way of getting the right fit and style that I want. I enjoy singing with a local community choir called Singing Our Socks Off and I am also learning to play the mandolin. My husband Paul likes to make his own beer which can often be heard bubbling away under the stairs along with some rather nice wines too which he likes to share. Ideally we would like to have our own B&B with micro brewery when we semi-retire. We both like meeting new people and always offer a warm welcome into our home sometimes with curry, beer and cake!
