Our bright and airy 3-bed apartment overlooking a park, has a swimming pool and is just a short stroll from the beaches in Estoril and Cascais. It comfortably sleeps 6, has a fully equipped kitchen and is a 25 minute train ride away from Lisbon.
The apartment can comfortably sleep 6 people. We love the large and bright living room, and on evenings when we are too tired to go out, we watch a film from the collection of classic films which is in the apartment and available for guests.
As we don´t live in Portugal at the moment, upon your arrival ,you will be met by our wonderful parents/parents-in-law, Suzanne and David, who live in the apartment block next door. They have lived in Portugal for 25 years, speak Portuguese and know everything there is to know about the country!
The apartment is overlooking a park which contains a popular rope-climbing facility. Walk through the park and you end up down by the sea front in 10 minutes! Or you can walk down to the centre of Monte Estoril, buy your fresh bread and pastries a the Zenith, visit the wine shop, enjoy the old aristocratic architecture of Monte Estoril, the museum of Portuguese music, the handicraft shop... Everything is there. Or you can walk to the train station in Cascais or Monte Estoril (about 10 minutes each) and head for Lisbon for the day. A nice Saturday morning starts with a basket in hand and a stroll to the vegetable and fish market in Cascais (about 10-15 minute walk. If you like golf, there are several golf courses nearby, surfing is excellent, Sintra is full of interesting and wonderful sites... the possibilities are endless!
There is a bus stop on the door step. The bus only goes once an hour, but takes you to Estoril station on one end and to the market in Cascais on the other. If you hire a car, street parking in the area is not a problem. The train to Lisbon is very frequent and takes 25 or 30 minutes from Monte estoril and Cascais. Both stations are a ten minute walk from the apartment.

I just love Portugal! As an artist I adore the light on the Lisbon-Cascais coast. My family and I come and stay in the apartment several times a year because there are things we just cannot live without:
- Magical misty walks in the gardens in Sintra and in Malveira da Serra
- Trips to the hidden beach Praia da Ursa
- Fado evenings in Lisbon
- Cream tarts from Belem
- Portuguese coffee
- Grilled fish with lemon at the beach restaurant at the Praia da Adraga off season
- Visits to the Paula Rego museum in Cascais and the Gulbenkian in Lisbon
- Sun-set dinner at the Chapito resturant in Lisbon - overlooking the city and bridge
- Walks along the seafront from Cascais to Estoril mid-winter
- Ice cream at Gulli´s in Cascais
- Browsing the shops in Bairro Alto in Lisbon
- Feeling the waves and the wind at Guincho beach
- and of course catching up with our Portuguese friends
...and a million other things!
