We love having people to stay and are around most of the time if you have questions about where to visit etc..

We have the benefit of big open spaces and a local village feel whilst still being close to the city centre.

The regular (5 and 5a) buses run from our road into the city centre (20mins), Preston Park train station is a 5 min drive (30min walk), our house backs onto the South Downs as well as the junctions for both A23 (Lewes / Hove & Worthing) and A27 (London). Trains from Brighton direct into London Victoria or London Bridge take 50mins.

We have a small dog and 2 young children who are used to regular guests, we like to think of ourselves as pretty knowledgeable about the city so we'll make sure you get all the hints and tips for the best local experience. We suit individual guests, backpacking friends or families.

We are a family home so not suited to clubbers or hen/stag visitors. We have a dog so expect woofing when you arrive (tiny dog, big bark!). Our kids go to bed around 7pm so we like upstairs to be pretty quiet after that - 6-7pm can get pretty noisy with toddler tantrums! However there's the lounge/TV room and kitchen / day room to hang out in. No issues for bathrooms as there's 3 (each with a shower). For long-term guests we do washing on a Friday, 2 loads (1 colour/dark and 1 white) is £5 (no ironing though). Towels and bedding provided.

Two minutes from a busy road, but you wouldn't know it - (nearby) Patcham is like a charming piece of Olde Englande, and Amelia's place is a friendly family home where you feel like one of the family from the moment you arrive! Nice room, hot shower (v important at the end of a long day hiking!), and a warm welcome- go for it!

Well this was only my second ever Airbnb experience and I can honestly say that Amelia totally deserves her "Superhost" status. She and her family are all lovely and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Even Marcie the dog seemed to like me! Her home is exactly as described, clean, cozy and very relaxed. I had a very comfortable stay for a couple of days and some great chats with everyone. She is also a great cook and made some delicious and healthy dinners. I will certainly be booking with her again.

I try to stay with Amelia when ever working in Brighton. Ace host. Ace room. Ace house.

I stayed with Amelia and Duncan whilst I looked for permanent accommodation for my studies at the University of Sussex. Amelia and Duncan were fantastic hosts who were able to recommend local places to stay, where to go out in Brighton and anything to help me get settled in the area. During my time there they very much made me feel part of the family and the five minute commute (drive) to the University was very much the icing on the cake. It was a great stay and I would happily recommend this to anyone.

Amelia and her family made me feel so welcome. Amelia is a very chatty bubbly character and very easy to get on with. It was such a pleasure to stay with her and her family. Marcie (the family dog) is so sweet too. She barks for the first 10 seconds then she is sweet and gentle.

This was my first Airbnb stay: Amelia and her family made me feel very welcome from the outset. The accommodation was clean and in a great location. Will certainly stay again should I return to Brighton. Thank you!

Profil utilisateur de AmeliaAmelia est un Superhost.

We are Amelia, Duncan, Syd, Hana and Marcie.
We made Brighton our home back in 2000. In that time I (Amelia) have run the much missed Brighton Magazine "The Source" , dabbled in online technology and launched the US deals site LivingSocial in the UK. I'm currently trying my hand at being a full-time housewife - definitely my most enjoyable role, not sure how good I am at it. Duncan is an Editorial Development Editor in academic publishing and has been underground music obsessive for the past 18 years, he is also the best cake maker for miles around. We are known to binge on the odd HBO series but spend most of our time in the kitchen listening to music and cooking/baking.
Syd and Hana, like most little kids, love Lego, computer games, TV (Adventure Time being the biggest hit) and fighting with each other.
Marcie just loves to bark...sleep..bark...chase a ball.
