This is a great house for a large group… so many spots to retreat to in order to get away and preserve sanity. The house had all the features we were looking for to host a family wedding gathering - if you are looking for a grand Hamptons experience in an historic dwelling, this is it.

One of a kind... big, tons of bedrooms, architecturally interesting, right off the bay and a few minutes from both Southampton and Hampton Bays. Definitely recommend.

Sugarloaf is a wonderful old house full of character and charm on quite a big property. There were three couples and 5 kids all under 5 staying there and we had a lovely time. Nick and Steve made us feel welcome and were very responsive to enquiries we had about the house. It is in a good location and walking distance from the water which although is not really a swimming beach, the kids thoroughly enjoyed walking along and collecting shells. Important though to search the children for tics at the end of each day after running around in the garden / on the grass (although this is the case for anywhere in the area). The house is about 15 mins drive (depending on traffic) from Southampton town and for us it was a great location to explore the Hamptons during our one week stay. My wife left her sunglasses there and Nick & Steve very kindly sent them in the post to London. Thank you for having us!

What a lovely home! I stayed here with a big group of guys and we had an absolute blast. The home is very old (in a good way) with tons of interesting history. It has lots of great outdoor space for bocce, frisbee, grilling, and even a fire pit. It's a short drive to the awesome Cooper's Beach and other Southampton attractions while still feeling very private and set back.

AMAZING house and awesome stay. Our group had so much fun at the Sugarloaf house and were very impressed with all of the history behind the house. Waking up on private land and having a few of the bay from some of the windows was breathtaking. We would recommend this place to anyone!

Nick was very communicative in the weeks and days leading up to our rental period - it was great! The house is one of the most interesting I've ever rented - how often do you stay in a place that's 100+ years old! The views of the bay from the decks and great room were lovely, and the many different living areas (inside and out) were great - each one had its own special quality. The neighborhood was quiet and felt isolated + private. Overall, we loved it!

The Sugarloaf House was amazing. There was enough room for everyone to stay and then some. We were able to enjoy the luxury of the spacious kitchen to cook breakfast and dinner as well as enjoy the back patio for a BBQ. There is an amazing view of the bay from all balconies as well as the kitchen and some of the upstairs bedrooms. Every turn and corner in the house you discovered something new. The welcome book and signage in the house of what to use and how to use it was perfect and detailed. We went in the heat of August, so the house was a little steamy during the day/night but was cooled down in the am. There are air conditioners in each bedroom which made sleeping comfortable, but coming back from the beach to the common areas of the house was a tad hot. Nick was very helpful by email/text and got back to us immediately if we had a question. He was very accommodating. We had a few minor hiccups - but Nick worked with us to help figure them out. The house has a lot of history and was really neat. We would love to stay again.
