A comfortable studio duplex apartment in Salt Lake City's historic Avenues neighborhood. A short 15-minute train ride from the airport, and a 15-minute walk to downtown and the Convention Center.

Le logement

This 500 sq-ft apartment is half of a brick duplex, built at the turn of the century. Naturally, the house shows it's years, and its abundant charm. It is a great place for a traveling single person or couple to stay, who want to enjoy their privacy and the comforts of being in a small home.

You enter the house to an ample living area and bedroom connected to each other. A fold-out screen provides some separation between the spaces. There is also a small room off the kitchen that can be used as a work or dining room.

Furnishings include a king-sized bed and a couch that can easily double as a single bed. The bed has a good new mattress, which you will enjoy if you prefer yours, like I do, on the firmer side.

There is a fireplace, good-sized television and small kitchen stocked with cooking supplies, tea and coffee.

Includes access to a washer and dryer, wifi, cable TV -- including premium channels, and access to Netflix.

Accès des voyageurs

You will have access to the entire apartment and its modest grounds.

When I walked through the airbnb apt offered by Kelly I saw problems. Immediately following my keypad entry to this property offered by Kelly I decided to phone and text my host about 6 pm. She did not answer either by phone or text for more than 9 hours, but then phoned me at 3:45 am … awaking me. By then, I had checked into an alternate lodging and was sound asleep. I phoned the host right away because not only was it plain that the photos offered online had been retouched to deceive one into thinking that the apartment was in good condition, but the back door was only secured by the cheapest of deadbolts and did not have tight jams so that any determined thief could enter. That door is really chewed up. The large TV was not in working order. Even the host’s assistant across the street could not get the TV to operate, although he offered to replace light bulbs.Light bulbs were burned out in 2 lamps…a pull chain missing in a kitchen light. Moreover, wiring was not solid…producing a “now it works – now it doesn’t” result-- with lights (both overhead and in lamps) making them undependable even in just 10 minutes of scouting the property. For several minutes I could not switch off the overhead living room light. I could not get bedside lights to work- except by delay. I have never before refused to check into an airbnb property in more than 50 stays. One of the critical elements is that the property smelled funny. At first I thought it was animals- but the assistant said their are no animals in residence either here or in the adjacent unit. This is a duplex. It smelled so strange that I felt my allergies would not tolerate the odor. Too bad, as the location is wonderful. This is definitely an older property that needs renovation and attention. The host lives far away apparently. I have never written such a negative review as I have had wonderful experiences on airbnb. The most concerning element has to be the back door which opens from a tiny breakfast space to a door facing a sort of blind spot in the yard – it would be a well of darkness with a temptingly unstable door if someone wanted to enter without invitation.

Very nice, older, quaint duplex. Really quite bigger than a "studio". Very comfortable bed, fully-stocked kitchen, lots of towels, plush bathrobes and slippers. Owner was quickly responsive to any questions. House is in a lovely, older residential neighborhood with great houses. Very close to the bus stop, although bus ran to infrequently for my schedule. A quick 15 minute walk into City Creek and Temple Square, a little more exertion is required coming back home up the hill. Quiet with no noise from neighbors. I would stay there again.

Great little studio apartment in a fantasic neighborhood walkable to downtown restaurants and bars. So much more charm than a boring hotel room. Kelly made everything easy. Would definitely stay here again.

We are a couple of traveling seniors who love staying at B&B's! Kelly's place is in a lovely neighborhood in Salt Lake City, close to restaurants and a great grocery store. It is an old fashioned bungalow which was divided into 2 units. The living room is charming, the king size bed is comfortable, and the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking a meal and dining in. And there is coffee in the freezer staying fresh until you get there! We had a pleasant stay but the bathroom has not been updated, and so it presents challenges for older visitors. However, the younger generations will love this place and it is well worth booking!

Kelly's place was cute and cozy. We loved walking to Publik Coffee and it was just a quick Uber to all of the fun and quaint shops, cafes and pubs downtown!

Kelly was an amazing host. Her place is older, but has a lot of character. The bed was comfortable, and there were many towels and linens. The location is about a 15 min walk to downtown, and the neighborhood is quiet. There was a slight leak in the restroom, and Kelly had a plumber out immediately to have it fixed. The space was comfortable and inviting. Not modern, but very cozy.
