We stayed with Laura while in the area for our cousin's wedding. It was the first time I used airbnb and it was truly a fantastic experience. Laura is a lovely host and was super accommodating about me coming with both of my two children, ages 10 and 12, despite her place not being huge. She set up the bedroom with an extra air mattress so we all could fit, and we slept in the three comfy beds very well. Her place is beautiful, yet simple; it felt like we were at a friends' house or even in our own home (minus our clutter). Laura shared breakfast with us each morning; she made great coffee and shared local goodies with us like fresh jam and toast, which my kids gobbled up happily. Laura is a genuinely warm person and was so nice to chat with; Right away, she made us feel so at home that despite my plans to pack our trip with hiking and exploring the area, the first day, we just hung around, read our books, enjoyed her beautiful back yard, and just relaxed. The wedding was not until late afternoon with a late party, but she was fine with us coming in late and had her own plans throughout the weekend, being fine with us coming and going as it suited us. My children, both of whom can be very, very shy were treated with kindness and warmth, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They were made to feel quite at ease right away and had such a good time. Honestly, I could not have had a more relaxing and enjoyable weekend away with my kids. On the Sunday drive back, completely unsolicited my 10 year remarked that he definitely wanted to return to stay with Laura again and his sister agreed she wanted to as well. They plan to bring their own football next time though, as her footballs (she had four of them) were a bit big for their hands. But they agreed, her frisbee was super.
