WIFI charge for use on a "pay as you go" basis. (15,00€ per week or pro rata for shorter stays). Discounted rates for rentals of more than 4 weeks). This charge is cover the initial investment by the owner to provide this service for guests. Use of a washing machine upon request, for a small charge.

The reason we charge for this, is because not all guests require this service so we prefer to only charge the guests who.
In addition, this hopefully, also encourages guests to mindful of our island's precious resources.

The large bedroom is light and airy, with comfortable double bed, 2 wardrobes, a set of drawers and book stand, plus wicker chair.
Full length mirror mounted on bedroom wall, plus a small mirror above set of drawers.

The bedroom has a high ceiling, and black out curtain to keep the room cool in the summer months.

Spacious, modern & beautiful fully tiled bathroom with large walk in shower.

Very helpful and friendly English host Vicki sometimes lives on site, but not next door! Privacy assured, but someone is always on hand if you require assistance or advice/recommendations.

Tias is a lovely quaint old town, which has many excellent restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, chemist etc. The Canarian residents and expatriates alike, are very friendly and welcoming, and are always pleased to help visitors in any way they can.

There is an excellent public bus service, which is very frequent and reasonably priced. Taxis can also be booked very easily & are inexpensive.
We are here to help you make the most of your holiday in Lanzarote, from airport transfers to complimentary welcome packs, to imparting our vast local knowledge of our very special & popular island!

Many natural attractions including the active volcano of Timanfaya Natural Park, to various beautiful beaches offering surfing, kayaking or simply quality sunbathing in our unique all year round temperate climate.

Come and visit us to find out for yourself!

We are waiting to welcome you.

Guests will be able to enjoy the garden, from immediately in front of their apartment.
Please note that during the summer months, the garden can be a little arrid due to lack of rain. Guests are encouraged to use their 'washing up water' on the plants immediately outside the apartment if they so wish.
As a business, we aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and request that guests use electric items with care, & switch lights off when rooms are not in use or on departure. Especially outside lights. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this!

Each property has its own little piece of garden to be enjoyed, so that guests retain their own privacy.

There is also a large parking area, away from the apartment itself, but guests from other apartments will need to walk by Casita Mariposa to get to their cars. However, guests of Casita Mariposa have never found this to be a problem, with many guests returning!

Guests will be able to interact with other guests if they wish to, either in the parking area or when they pass by another apartment. Most guests like to exchange a salutation, but still enjoy the privacy of their own apartment/terrace.

Vicki lives on the island for most of the year, and is readily available if guests require her assistance either in person, or via email or mobile telephone.
There is a manager 'on call' when Vicki is not at home, which is not very often.

Guests will see as much or as little of their host as they desire.
Normally, guests will be greeted within 48 hours of arrival by either their host or a manager in her absence.

However, subsequent visits may be chargeable - depending on the reason for the requested visit.

The location of this property is very quiet, private and tranquil and yet only a short pleasant walk will take you to Tias centre with all its great amenities including a large well equipped supermarket, complete with fresh meat, fresh fish, and delicatessen counters, plus a small coffee shop.
Tias remains typically Spanish with several very good restaurants, tapas bars as well as several banks, pharmacy, small shops and even a health food shop.

Lanzarote has excellent roads, and Tias is centrally located on the island, therefore giving great & quick access to all corners of our very special and diverse island.

Tias is a small, unspoiled and very safe town and there is always a very warm welcome!

Guests should try 'La Ermita' and 'La Esquina' restaurants in Tias centre, both very popular with guests. Other restaurants include 'Iguaden' which sells paella & other Spanish dishes.

The Nobel prize winner Saramago's home is situated close to our holiday properties, and is now a museum where the public can visit 6 days a week.

Guests who like to be active, can hire a bike or try one of the many documented walks throughout the island. Bikes can be delivered to and collected from all our holiday properties, & these are reasonably priced.

For night life guests are recommended to visit Puerto del Carmen, a 15 minute car drive or reasonably priced taxi drive away. Here you will find an extensive choice of restaurants including Thai, Indian, Japanese, as well as Spanish and English of course!

There is an array of night time entertainment from nightclubs which are open until the early hours, La Ola which has live music and dancing such as Flamenco. Next door you will find the island's Casino if you fancy a flutter. A recently modernised pedestrianized front provides easy walking, parallel to the beach front, and there are several places where you can stop off and enjoy a cocktail or night cap. There are also public benches strategically placed along the beach front, so visitors can sit and take in the beautiful sunsets, of just take a moment to breathe in the clean sea air!

Omnicars is an excellent car hire company who will also do the same with their cars, or you can collect a car from the airport. Discount is offered to our guests, and you can hire a car for as little as 2 days. For further details see (website hidden) and remember to mention where you are staying for your discount! Please ask Vicki or manager for details.

El Golfo is a must, with its beautiful and captivating volcanic landscape and roads cut out of the lava fields!
Guests always return energised after visiting this very old & mystic hamlet ..... a favourite amongst many residents.
El Golfo is probably my favourite place on the island, & I love to sample the freshly caught fish in the one of the local restaurants, whilst gazing out at the exhilarating waves. Sometimes I am really lucky & get to watch the local chefs prepare the freshly caught fish on the nearby rocks.

Bon appetit or as the Spanish say ....... Buen Provecho!

The public bus service is extremely good, punctual and inexpensive.

Please ask Vicki about reasonably priced airport transfers via a local company lastm - Approximately 10,00 euros per transfer. (One or two people), but you will need to check these yourself!.

Guests have used the bus service (and one ferry!) to travel as far as La Graciosa. The neighbouring island to the north of Lanzarote.

Taxis are also good and not too expensive, you can always ask for an approximate price before you book a taxi. Approximate price from the airport is 12 - 15 euros but again, guests are advised to check for themselves!

Georgie is our resident cat of 9 years, and he is very friendly and curious. Please ensure car doors & windows are closed when leaving, as Georgie has been known to enter guest's cars which could be fatal especially during the hot months. Thank you in anticipation!

He does not usually cause any problems and most guests immediately fall in love with him!

However, if you are not a cat person he will not usually disturb you. However, if he does become a problem then guests only need to speak to either Vicki or the manager in her absence.

I am an extremely young 50+ year old, with a passion for life and adventure.

I relocated to Lanzarote in 1999, and bought my beautiful property which nestles on a quiet hill top in 2002. I spent time renovating, and bringing the property up to its current condition with a view to renting it out to discerning holiday makers.

Both my apartments, and the villa with pool will appeal to those who seek quality, privacy, value for money, plus the uniquely beautiful & peaceful location with its spectacular uninterrupted sea views!

I love nature, all animals & especially my stray cat Georgie who adopted me 5 years ago - he is very friendly and very popular with many of my guests!

I also love to travel and meet new people, and experience different cultures, & learn new languages. (Well try to!) I visited the north east of Brazil in 2011, and loved every minute! I have also visited, South Africa, India, Egypt and many other places.
The next destination on my 'Wish List' is South East Asia, hopefully 2014!
This year I will spend 3 weeks in Andalucia, and also visit my English friend who lives there.

I like to write and read poetry, and find inspiration from everyday things and situations. I also love being around children, and have taught Spanish children English. My eventual plan is to do some voluntary work abroad, using my nursing skills, teaching skills, and any others I may have acquired along my life's path.

Food and drink are very important to me, and more so when I socialize & share these with friends and sometimes holiday guests. I enjoy eating everything, but especially love sea food and tropical fruits.

The 5 things I cannot live with out are:

1. My friends & family - Including my lovely cat!
2. My internet connection for my business and social contacts
3. Contact with children - they always lift my spiri(URL HIDDEN)
4. A comfortable bed as I am useless without my 8 hours sleep!
5. All the normal personal hygiene things, shower, hair conditioner, tooth paste etc. (Boring I know!)

I have been told by my guests that I offer excellent customer service. I pride myself on replying promptly to email enquiries, and going the extra mile when necessary for my holiday guests.

I am also a very considerate, and easy to please guest. I like to explore independently, and love to use the public transport as I find this is a good way to meet local people and pick up the local language.

My mottos are: "Life is short, so try to enjoy & learn from every moment"
(URL HIDDEN) "Treat people how you would like to be treated"
