Le logement

Come stay in one of the most convenient, vibrant and sought-after locations on the Maltese Islands. My apartment is located at Belmonte Heights, Triq Sant’ Injazju (Saint Ignatius Street), a new development built in 2004. This modern apartment is located just a stone’s throw from Balluta Bay, a busy area with fantastic restaurants, bars and local shops, not to mention being one of the nicest spots to swim on the island with very calm waters and easy stair/ramp access directly to the sea.

This 2 bedroom apartment is located on the third floor of a modern apartment block and has fully maintained communal lift access direct to the apartment door. The building is very bright and airy thanks to various internal shafts allowing natural sunlight into the property.

The apartment has a large sliding door onto a balcony in the main living area and overlooks both the quiet courtyard beneath. It has a fully fitted kitchen with all new and modern appliances including; Oven, gas hobs, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. The kitchen has glass dining table with 6 matching chairs and has brand new pots, pans, plates, cutlery and other equipment.

The rest of the apartment is stylishly finished with high quality furniture including a double leather sofa in the living room, 1 x ultra-comfy large double bed, 2 x twin single beds, and an S series Samsung HD Smart-TV.

The master bedroom is home to a second small balcony, ideal for air-drying clothes and is nearest to the living area. It has a comfortable large double bed with all new sets of bed linen and a soft-fabric headboard. There is also 2 bedside cabinets along with a very large fitted wardrobe with ample storage.

The second bedroom is similar in size to the master bedroom, it has 2 x single beds, bedside cabinets and wardrobes, in here you will find extra pillows, duvets/blankets and the rest of the towel sets for the apartment.
There is a plan of the apartment uploaded in the pictures so you can see where everything is.

Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. There is an iron and ironing board available for use, and a washing machine with a clothes-horse for outside drying at no extra cost. There is also a hair dryer and vacuum cleaner.

Beach towels are not provided so please bring your own.

The apartment should have sufficient crockery etc for the number of guests. If that is not the case then the previous occupant may have inadvertently lost an item. If you find you are short of anything please let the host know as soon as possible.

Bedding and towels.
Our pricing is very competitive and all pricing assumes one clean at the beginning of the occupancy including fresh bedding and towels. Our clients may request additional cleans during their stay at the same cost of 50 eur per clean which will then include a further change of towels and bedding each time. Alternatively longer stay clients have the use of the washing machine facilities provided to carry out their own washing as they feel necessary. Clients wishing to avail themselves of additional cleans/ bedding and towel changes should inform our manager on check in and also pay the required additional fee , We will then arrange for that service to be provided as close as possible to the requested date or dates.
If for any reason an inadequate supply of towels, bedding or tea towels or any other staple items is available clients are asked to report this on the air bnb e-mail system as well as any conversations they may have directly with our manager. This ensures that we can keep track overall of any issues that have arisen and make sure that they are dealt with as effectively as possible.

Water supplies
Malta is a small island with no natural water resources, as such the water pressure can sometimes be slow. We ask that you appreciate that as such you may find it takes longer to take showers or fill up sinks than you may be used to at home.

I live a few minutes’ drive from the apartment and I always aim to greet my guests personally and give them an introduction to the apartment and local area. Once I have handed over the keys that will be the last you are required to see of me until I return for check-out, however we can always catch-up mid-way through your trip and I am always available to reach via telephone for any problems or questions you may have.

Le quartier

In the very heart of Sliema, the area around the apartment is generally quiet, though we cannot promise there won't be the occasional rowdy tourist on his way home from Paceville!
The apartment is surrounded by bars, restaurants, local shops and easy access to the sea and to public transport .

Transports

The apartment is perfectly located for exploring Malta. You have St Julians a 10-minute walk in one direction, and the centre of Sliema including the ferry terminus to Valleta, Gozo, and for various harbour cruises, is 10 minutes in the opposite direction. There are buses going from Balluta bay to pretty much everywhere on the island, and connecting buses for the places furthest away. There is also a direct bus from Balluta to Cirkewwa which is the main departure and arrival point for the national ferry to Gozo and Comino.

Airport bus (X2) passes Balluta bay and is a very inexpensive option at less than €2 per person. Alternatively a taxi from the airport will cost around €15-20 depending on the time of day/night.
Hiring a Car
If you want to hire a car it can be easily done at the airport, and we do have an optional a garage space available for €5 per night. Parking and traffic in Malta can be a little frustrating especially at peak hours, but nothing too problematic. With a hire car and a Sat Nav you will find that practically all destinations are less than 20 minutes away.

Bus Service
Malta Public Transport is the company set up in 2014 to operate the bus services in Malta and Gozo. Bus services on the Maltese islands generally operate daily between 5:30 and 23:00hrs. There are routes from everywhere to everywhere else, they are air conditioned, designed for the elderly and mobility impaired and include audio announcements and electronic information panels at each bus stop. A more comprehensive outline of the service will be included in the Welcome email.

Taxis
The Maltese white taxi service can pick up passengers from anywhere, except bus-stops. However beware that some not all, of these drivers may try to charge you a higher price if you aren’t fully aware of the correct price, my personal choice is to steer clear of these white taxis.

Taxi services from the Malta International Airport to all localities in Malta are based on a fixed tariff.

My personal recommendation is E-cabs. I have found them to be the cheapest, most reliable, and best performing taxi operator on the island since I arrived here. I cannot praise them highly enough. Remember: It's always better to enquire and agree on a fare before you enter a taxi.

Grand Harbour
A & S Water Taxis operates a shuttle service from Valletta to Vittoriosa and Senglea using traditional Maltese boats.

There will be shampoo, conditioner, shower-soap, hand-soap and toilet paper provided however most guests prefer to bring/purchase their own.


GARAGE
There is a large underground garage available for secure parking charged at €5 extra per night, optional.

COT
We can provide a cot if this is pre-booked charged at €2 extra per night, optional.
WI-FI
There is super-fast Wi-Fi throughout the apartment at no extra cost. Our price is inclusive of Wi-Fi in the apartment. Malta is also very well served for Wi-Fi hotspots and has 4G mobile internet island-wide.

Please keep the internal windows in the bathrooms closed. They are light sources and services hatches and nothing else.

The AC remote has a slide out that control the heating as well as the Air con.


The apartment has three bathrooms and two water tanks on the roof. If everything is used simultaneously then the water tanks may empty and require some time to refill. If that happens please be a little patient as there is only so much water we can keep on the roof !

No Pets generally though we might be prepared to make exceptions if you ask nicely.

Smoking - it would be better if you didn't smoke at all, but it is allowed next to Balcony doors only, ( with the doors open !)

Keep the apartment clean and tidy and be polite to the neighbours.

Breakages and Lost items - we have a limited number of items, towels, cutlery etc if you lose them or break them then please let us know so that we can ensure that we have replaced it before the next occupant.

If you enjoyed your stay please give us a good review. If something went wrong please give us a chance to put it right !

CHECK-IN IS FROM 4PM - CHECK-OUT IS BY 11AM.
Please stick to the check out rules . We need time to prepare for the next tenant and if someone leaves late it exposes us to bad reviews from the next occupant.

Craig était à l'heure au rendez- vous le jour de notre arrivée,il nous a aidé à monter nos valises et nous a bien expliqué le fonctionnement des principaux éléments relatifs à notre séjour . L'appartement est fidèle à la description ,la pièce principale est agréable,ensoleillée et sur une rue calme. Le quartier ,est tranquille et très proche du bord de mer. J'ai beaucoup aimé la vue sur les maisons typiquement maltaises et bien entretenues. Bon séjour d'hiver.

Appartement conforme en tous points à la description que Craig en a faite. Ne pouvant être présent à l'heure convenue, Craig nous a appelé pour nous prévenir et repousser d'une heure le rendez-vous...donc sans problème. A recommander sans problème

The wifi worked very well. The location is convenient because it's close to many shops, restaurants and a bus stop. It's quite large. Having three washrooms and a washing machine made it very handy.

It was great to stay at Craig's apartment. All the necessary things was at the apartment. The apartment was very clean and nice and Craig is very good host. Really liked our stay and definitely will stay again. I am very delighted the location and the apartment generally. Thank you.

Η πρώτη μας φορά με airbnb κ αντιμετώπισαμε διαφορά προβλήματα. Δυστυχώς όταν φτάσαμε δεν μας περίμενε στην είσοδο και χρειάστηκε να πηγαινοερχομαστε στη πολυκατοικία ψάχνοντας κάποιον Craig, αφού δεν απαντούσε στις κλήσεις μας. Εμφανίστηκε μισή ώρα μετά κ μας εξήγησε ότι αντιμετώπισε κάποιο πρόβλημα και δεν δώσαμε παραπάνω σημασία. Το σπίτι του Craig ήταν όντως μεγάλο ευρύχωρο. Στη συνέχεια όταν επλυνα το πρόσωπο μου και πήγα να χρησιμοποιήσω μια πετσέτα δυστυχώς υπήρχε μια μικρή τούφα μαλλιά και κάπως έτσι αφήσαμε στην άκρη τις πετσέτες. Γενικά δε ένιωθα καθόλου άνετα μετά ούτε στα σεντόνια. Δε την επόμενη ένας από τους φίλους μου βρήκε μια μικρή ζωντανή κατσαρίδα στο μπάνιο του. Κι από τότε το "ποτέ ξανά airbnb" έγινε λίγο ατάκα που λέγαμε μεταξύ μας. Η αλήθεια είναι ότι κοιτάξαμε τις κριτικές στον Craig και ήταν ιδιαίτερα καλές, ίσως να ήταν αναποδιές που έτυχαν σε εμάς, αλλά σίγουρα επηρεασαν τη διαμονή μας.

Craig le eve giriş sırasında buluştuk. Kendisi çok yardımcı ve kolay iletişim kurulan biri. Ev maltanın merkezlerinden sliema da yer alıyor. Havaalanından X2 ile ulaşım mümkün. Ev etrafında bolca restaurant, market bulunuyor. Bar ve clublara(St. Julians) ve başkente (valetta) oldukça yakın. Bunun dışında çıkıp sokakta yürümek isterseniz güzel ferah ve sessiz bir çevreye sahip. Evde 2 ferah ve geniş yatak odası bulunuyor. İkisindede ebeveyn banyosu bulunmakta. Evde ihtiyacınız olacak herşey bulunuyor. Kendi evimizdeymiş gibi sabah kahvaltımızı ve çoğunlukla akşam yemeklerimizi evde yedik. Her türlü mutfak ekipmanı mevcut. Bunun dışında ütü havlu ve temiz çarşaf ev sahibi tarafından sağlanmakta. Açıkçası girişte bazı eşyalarda sorun yaşadık. Ama craig e haber verdiğimizde hızlıca yenileriyle değiştirdi. Bu evi tutarsanız kendisiyle iletişim kurmaktan çekinmeyin son derece yardımcı oluyor. Kesinlikle tavsiye ediyorum.

Everything you need at home is available. We ate our breakfast and our mostly dinner at home as if we were in our own home. All kinds of kitchen equipments are available. Other than that, iron towels and clean sheets are provided by the landlord. Obviously we had some problems in the entrance. But when we told craig, he quickly changed to new ones. If you keep this house, it is extremely helpful to not hesitate to contact him. I definitely recommend it. 24yo guy from Newcastle who moved to Malta in Feb 2015 and rapidly fell in love with the island, it's people, culture, food and weather!

I started this airbnb venture with a successful British entrepreneur who was interested in purchasing property here in Malta.

As your live-out host I tend to be pretty hands-off. I am here to answer all of you enquiries and questions from the pre-booking stage right up until the end of your stay and beyond. I will be there to greet you at the agreed check-in time, will show you into the apartment and give you the guided tour, this will include explaining how everything in the apartment and building works, answering any of your questions and giving some tips on things to do/see/eat/drink during your stay and pointing out nearby conveniences. At this point I step aside and let you get on with your holiday as planned and with making yourselves feel at home in the apartment. I will agree with you the arrangement for checking out at this point and then you will see me x days later for the handover.
