FAQs!!!!!!! Frequently Asked Questions!!!!!!!!!!!
* What are your check in and check out times?
We don't have set check in and out times because we like to accommodate guests' schedules whenever at all possible. Let us know when is most convenient for you and we will try to work around your schedule. If we can't accommodate an early check in (because a guest has yet to check out) we will invite you to come early, pick up a key, drop off your bags and enjoy the common area or go out exploring until your room is ready.
* Can we drop off our bags earlier than check in? Or leave our bags with you later than check out?
Yes! We know that plans don't all go on a check in/out schedule, so we are happy to accommodate! Let us know that you plan to and then feel free to leave your bags behind in the living room before check in or after check out so you can be out and about without baggage :-).
* Our flight comes in very late, is that ok?
Yes! We may not stay up to greet you, but in our communication with you about this, we will give you instructions of how to access the apartment and let yourself in.
* Do you have parking?
We do not have designated parking, we have free street side parking that is a hot commodity and sometimes requires a bit of circling around. Pay attention to alternate-side parking laws and all signs.
* What's the best way to get around?
Subway and bus! We are New Yorkers and do not own a car, and do not recommend guests to rent cars for an NYC trip. Subways are often the fastest and cheapest way to get around this city. At $2.75 a ride, or $31 for unlimited rides for 7 days, you have access to all the 5 boroughs, without sitting in traffic. With few exceptions, subways run 24 hours, 7 days a week.
* Will you be home when we arrive? Although we would love to be retired and be home to greet every guest, unfortunately we still have a few years until we get there! We try our best to be home to greet guests, but work/life/family sometimes interferes. In the case that we can't be home to greet you, we have super detailed instructions for “smart check in" (meaning you check yourself in with a key we leave behind for you in a lock box).
* Is the area you live in safe?
We feel safe in our neighborhood at any time of day or night. We feel safe traveling on subway at night, even just ladies.
* How far are you from the subway?
One short block from the B and Q subways!
* How long does it take to get to Manhattan?
It depends where in Manhattan you are going, but just to give you context of train time: 20 min to the first stop in Manhattan, 30 min to Times Square. Use Gogle maps Transit option to get your best direction options. Remember to type in the day and time, so the transit directions are relevant to the time you are heading out. If find this too confusing, we'd be happy to look it up for you.
* How can I get to you from the airport?
Please see our directions for detailed information for all NYC airports and general directions.
* We are not ready to book yet, will the room still be available next week?
Booking is a “first book, first serve" basis. We are sorry, we can not save rooms. Our rooms are available to anyone until someone books, and then those dates are closed off.
Our amenities are listed on the page in the amenities section. We also have a hair blow dryer and an iron, we thought to mention here are they weren't options to check off on the amenities list!
*If this section is being used for FAQs, where are the house rules?
Right here: Please be clean and respectful. This includes washing the dishes you use, and taking your hair with you out of the shower ;-). We keep a clean space and do our best to make our guests feel comfortable. Feel free to ask questions- I will answer each person who contacts us.

I am a nurse, my husband is a security guard, and our daughter Kamila is in the cuteness industry! We both work full time here in Brooklyn. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, my husband was born and raised in Cuba.
We have now been hosts for two years! In that time, we've hosted more than 350 guests from over 150 different cities. Our oldest guest was 94 years old and our youngest guest, 9 months old. We have truly enjoyed meeting each and every one of you, and look forward to more!
