Charming private studio in safe, upscale, historic East Medford district with beautiful oak-lined streets. Kitchenette, bath w/full-size shower, secure wifi. I-5: 1 mile. Oregon Shakespeare Festival: 12 miles. Crater Lake: 65 miles. Welcome!
Berkeley Cottage: our cozy, mother-in-law studio is tucked away behind the main house (where we live) on a lush, landscaped yard. Privacy abounds as you walk down the hedge-lined driveway, through the swinging gate, and into the fenced back yard.
There is parking out front, and private access into the Cottage - which is a stand-alone studio completely separate from the main house (no shared walls). Our main house is raised above the site-line of the cottage, providing you with privacy during your stay.
The studio has a winsome little brick patio out back, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine while watching the sunset on our comfy conversation set.
Inside you'll find an array of unique furnishings, including: a comfortable four-poster queen canopy bed with a memory foam topper, an antique tile-top table for two, a large dresser and end tables - both with ample storage space - a small antique hutch with reading material and a few games, and a private bathroom with full sized standing shower.
The kitchenette is similar to what you might find in a well-appointed hotel, and is equipped with dishes (4 bowls, 4 plates, 4 glasses, 2 wine glasses, 2 coffee cups), utensils (the basics), a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and 4-cup coffee maker. It is not suitable for cooking full meals, but is perfect for heating up leftovers and other snacks, or baking/toasting small items in the toaster oven.
Grab a book off the shelf and cozy into the sweet reading nook to help you unwind after a long day.

Échanges avec les voyageurs
We like to meet our guests upon arrival to say hello and hand off keys, but are ready with easy directions to access the cottage if we have a conflict.
We enjoy sharing all the great things about Southern Oregon, and are available for questions/recommendations.
- When you contact us prior to booking with a bit of info about yourself, who you're traveling with, and what brings you to the valley.
- We only accept reservations from travelers with Verified Offline ID: driver's license or equivalent.
We have three dogs, in three different sizes (from 13-120lbs). They share the backyard, that the studio sits on, throughout the day. While they are friendly, we always supervise them when we have guests.
- To reduce the peril of fur and pet dander for our allergy-sensitive guests, animals of any kind, our dogs included, are NOT allowed into the cottage.
- Those with allergies should not have any problem staying in the cottage.
BABIES & TODDLERS
Our space is not equipped to accommodate the needs of parents traveling with babies, and is not toddler-proofed; it would not be a good fit for those traveling with small children.
We provide a few local snacks and extras. We also provide extra toiletries, just in case you forget anything at home.
Check In after 3pm, and Check Out before 10:30am. Depending on our schedule and availability, with advanced notice we can sometimes be flexible with check out times.
We charge a minimal cleaning fee, and ask that guests respectfully treat our home as if it is their own.
No unapproved additional guests or visitors.
We live in a residential neighborhood and have an excellent relationship with our neighbors. To help us keep it that way, please refrain from loud music, parties, etc.
No smoking (of any kind) on the premises.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets; please do not let our dogs (or any animals) into the cottage.
Please close and latch the gate behind you; we would be crushed if any of our pups escaped.
We have called the Rogue Valley "Home" for over a decade.
We are AirBnB hosts and travelers who enjoy sharing all of the beautiful, artistic, and enriching virtues of scenic Southern Oregon with our guests.
As past and present Oregon Shakespeare Festival employees, both of us are well-versed in the cultural community of the Rogue Valley and all it has to offer.
Jess works in the non-profit sector as an Assistant Producer and Stage Manager, and has academic training in English Education. Matt works as a web developer for a non-profit software company specializing in arts and cultural.
We enjoy site-seeing: museums, theatre, scenic hikes, river rafting, fishing, wine-tasting, breweries, camping, eating out, and more... We're also down to indulge in quiet, reclusive vacations where privacy abounds and the only thing on the agenda is a good book and an ocean/lake/river view. We enjoy games (board and video), literature, philosophical conversations, coffee, and the occasional Netflix series binge.
As guests, we tend to be on the go or in private mode; you may not see much of us, but we hope you'll feel our gratitude!
As hosts, we will be on site during your stay, but engaged with our regular routine. We give our guests ample space and privacy; however, we are never far away, and are happy to make recommendations for our favorite local restaurants, activities and events, and more.
