Enjoy a peaceful stay in part of a 1938 cottage one block from Englewood Park, an easy mile or so by foot, car, bus, or pedicab to the Oregon State Capitol, Willamette University and downtown and a half mile to the Oregon State Hospital. Consider flying into Portland, taking the Hut Shuttle Bus to the Salem Airport, riding in a pedicab, or your host's car, to your charmed provisional Salem home. Transportation is available from the nearby Amtrak station as well.
These are comfortable and artful rooms: a bedroom, bathroom, and living room. The bedroom has a queen size bed and the living room has a comfortable futon couch that sleeps two. A small refrigerator in the living room is stocked with simple nutritious breakfast foods and there is an electric kettle for making coffee and hot cereal but THERE ARE NO cooking facilities. There is, however, access to a spacious and unique front porch. High speed internet is also available.
Please note that while this is not an 'entire place/apt' it is more than a room. Airbnb doesn't have a way to designate this type of place...the rooms are connected to the main house and are separated by a lockable (on both sides) door to the kitchen. Voices can be heard from either side of the door but it is difficult, without putting your ear to the door, to hear distinct words.
In addition, the back wall of your bath and bedroom adjoin my studio and the stairs to the studio basement so sound can be heard through that wall as well.
There is also a non-functioning wood stove in the living room but it is not safe for wood fires at this time.
Englewood is a very quiet, peaceful, and friendly neighborhood. The house is surrounded by gardens and nearby Englewood Park, the Jason Lee Cemetery, and the Oregon State Hospital grounds which provide pleasant places to stroll and watch the sun set, the moon rise.

There are so many things to appreciate in this valley and in this town; agriculture, viticulture, the natural wonder of Silver Creek Falls State Park, Pacific Northwest Native Plants, terrific hikes very close to town, the carousel and Riverfront Park to name just a few. If you'd make your interests known ahead of time, your host will do her best to guide you.
