Red Cloud Ranch is the ideal basecamp for exploring the great San Luis Valley. We are situated at 8,000 feet in the water-rich north end of the valley, one mile from Joyful Journey Hot Springs and at the base of the Sangre De Christo mountain range and its 14,000 foot peaks located due east. In sight and to the west is the continental divide and the 14,000 peaks of the San Juan range. In all directions, the view from Red Cloud is stunning. After dark, light a fire and enjoy the view. At this altitude, and with almost zero light distraction, you can see the stars past the stars. If the night sky is your thing, you will want to tote your telescope. And enjoy pristine drinking water pumped from our well.
