Enjoy a private room & bath in our renovated 1890s home on the nicest street in Ohio City. Short walk to restaurants, bars, a new museum of contemporary art, and the fantastic West Side Market. Easy access to anywhere in Cleveland via car or bus.
Private bedroom and bath with tub/shower on second floor. Hair dryer, shampoo, etc. provided. Iron/ironing board available.
Adjacent sitting area serves as shared access to our bedroom, so we may cross paths from time to time.
As lifelong Clevelanders we are happy to suggest places to visit, eat, play, etc. Or we'll let you fend for yourself if you prefer less interaction, just say so.
For more than 40 years the Near West Side/Ohio City has been our home, and we wouldn't live anywhere else. It's diverse and friendly, walkable and interesting. The people are as unique as the architecture, and in recent years there's been an explosion of new restaurants, shops, breweries and people walking their dogs.
The RTA bus to downtown is 3 blocks away, and the Red Line train to the airport is a ten minute walk. You can easily walk or bike to West 25th St. with its many bars, shops and restaurants as well as the fantastic West Side Market.
The Gordon Square Arts District is only a mile west, downtown less than two miles east, and beautiful University Circle, with its colleges, museums and Severance Hall, home of the Cleveland Orchestra is a 15-minute drive (also accessible by the Red Line train).
Within a 4 block radius: Rising Star Coffee (best in town); The Transformer Station, Cleveland's new contemporary art space (free!); Momocho, Le Petit Triangle, and Johnny Mango (unique food & drink); Fairview Park (lovely green space just across the street); St. Patrick's Catholic and Franklin Circle UCC churches (if you're so inclined). Oh, and a new bike rental station.

We prefer short-term guests and do not offer weekly/monthly discounts. That said, we'll consider special requests if you tell us why you think it would be a good idea!
Al is a designer and retired college professor of Visual Communication & Design. Joanne is a retired school psychologist. We have two adult children who grew up in this house and nine (!) grandkids.
We are experienced travelers who've visited various places in the UK, Scandinavia, Spain and France. Joanne has done even more traveling, needing only to check Antarctica off her list of continents visited.
When we travel we prefer to stay in B&Bs, to walk or take public transit whenever possible, and to avoid "tourist traps" and franchise operations in favor of places locals visit and eat at. We'd love to help you learn about Cleveland in the same way.
Al loves to cook, so in addition to coffee & bagels in the morning you might get fresh scones, home-fried potatoes or other favorites.
