À propos de ce logement
A spacious room that can accommodate 1-3 people and access to a clean and modern kitchen and bathroom! Only a 2-3 minute walk from public transportation and parking, and in a safe residential neighborhood. *Please read the entire listing for details before contacting us*
Terrified by Manhattan prices but hesitant about staying in the Bronx? Don't worry about it! The Grand Concourse/Yankee Stadium area of the Bronx may intimidating at first, but it is a diverse and historic neighborhood that combines everything: a real NYC vibe, fantastic transportation, and reasonable prices.
This private room is in a shared three bedroom apartment so we may have up to two other guests while you are here. Some guests book only the day before they arrive, so assume you will be sharing the apartment with others. There is only one shared bathroom and the apartment is a 4th floor walk up-- ***NO ELEVATOR/LIFT***. The building is 100+ years old and looks it age--
typical NYC-- but our apartment is newly renovated.
You will have:
- A private, lockable room with a double window, desk space, and wardrobe
- Your own set of keys
- One full sized bed that can fit 2 people and a twin size air bed for the 3rd person if needed
- Essentials such as wifi, towels, shampoo, toilet paper, bedding, etc.
***On a major boulevard so it can be somewhat noisy until midnight, or later on the weekends or major holidays-- Not for light sleepers!!***
***Heating is on from October to April when the temperature is below 55*F/12*C It is an old steam heating system popular in old buildings throughout NYC and we do not control it's schedule or temperature-- As of December 2016 we found a fix to keep the room from getting too hot! If it is too cold, the room also has an electric heater.***
***Window air conditioner provided from June to August***
Accès des voyageurs
- No curfew, you will have your own keys so come home any time. This is your home! :)
- 24h kitchen access that includes your own cabinet and fridge space for guests staying at least one week.
- Fast Wi-Fi internet

***PLEASE READ-- MANY QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED HERE***
If the dates on the calendar are available, the room is available-- No need to ask! But remember that until you book, the room is open for anyone else to book!
YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR TRAVEL PLANS and if two people or more, the FULL NAME of the additional guest(s).
If arriving by plane please give us the flight number and airport.
By bus or train please tell us the time you arrive and the terminal you arrive to.
If driving in or already in nyc, let us know what city/town or neighborhood you would be travelling from and an estimate of your arrival time.
CHECK IN TIME:
The check in time we choose is final, although we understand you may be delayed. Check in time is normally 6pm-12am, although if someone is home earlier we can be flexible. If you book or share your arrival details less than 48 hours before the day you arrive check in may need to be after 9pm. For earlier check-ins planned in advance you may have to stop by our jobs in Manhattan to pick up keys, or pick them up from a local business. Thanks for understanding!
Our buzzer/ doorbell is not working and you will need to contact us when you are in NYC, and again when you reach our apartment. Not sure if you will have mobile phone service when you arrive? Free wifi is available at underground stations (not the tunnels) in Manhattan and the Bronx called "transit wireless". To connect you just open any neutral webpage and you will be redirected to the connection screen. If you do not have phone service message us when you get to the 167th street station (and make sure that it has gone through by refreshing the page) to let us know you are on your way.
When the temperature is below 55*F our apartment is heated by a 100- year old building wide system that we have no control over! The radiator may make a "shsh" sound once in awhile, and it is on its own schedule that keeps our place warm overall.
We do not have cats or dogs.
The room is completely private, has its own lock, and guests are given their own set of keys.
IN YOUR FIRST MESSAGE AFTER BOOKING please share:
--- The full names of any additional guests other than the person who booked. Anyone in the apartment after 10pm is a guest so please book for the correct number of people, no one else is allowed overnight. Failure to include or respect this information will result in your reservation being cancelled on the spot.
--- Your NYC arrival details: your flight number and airline/ your bus arrival time and terminal/ your estimated arrival time if driving. This keeps us updated in case you are delayed or have no service and cannot contact us.
--- Note that if no one is home when you wish to check in, we will either leave the keys for you at a local business, or we may ask you to pick them up from Vasily at work in downtown Manhattan. Either way we will give you detailed directions on how to get them :)
Once you have arrived, feel at home!
Please clean after yourself. We work hard to keep our apartment clean, but we expect you to do your part. Wash your dishes, clean any crumbs or spills in the kitchen, and clean up your hair in the bathroom.
Good communication and planning is a must. Our buzzer/ doorbell may not work properly, so it is your responsibility to contact us when you reach our apartment. If you book less than 48 hours for arrival you may need to pick up the keys from us at work or wait until we are home in the evening to check in.
No smoking in the apartment. Please smoke outside only.
No shoes indoors. Barefeet, socks, or clean slippers/flip flops only.
Close all doors as quietly as possible, no slamming, especially at night.
No strong/heavy perfumes/colognes/body odor.
Thank you for reading the rules! Please confirm that you have read them and the listing when you contact us.
