Villa Santai Paloma (Peaceful Dove) lives up to its name in every way. It is set on three-quarters of an acre of tropical gardens, surrounded by panoramic views of terraced rice paddies, rushing streams, the Bali Sea and Mt. Agung, Bali's most sacred mountain.
The Villa is set on 3/4 of an acre of private land on a breezy hillside; has a large house with many terraces, a 10 meter pool with child's pool, lawns big enough for everything from volleyball to hide and seek; and quiet private space for relaxing, yoga, reading, writing, painting, etc. The entire property is 'child-safe'. The price for the villa is $US 160 per night. We recommend booking for a minimum of two nights to fully enjoy the villa and the area.
The villa has four workers: an English speaking housekeeper/cook; a gardener and two night staff. You are never alone.

The guests have the villa, grounds, pool, kitchen to them selves. The owners maintain a private office on the ground floor of the villa which is sometimes used as an office. Guests can request use of a computer, printer and scanner. The owners live in a separate house close to the villa and are available whenever needed or wanted.
The villa and extensive lawns are completely child friendly. The villa grounds are closed on all sides and there is no where of danger for kids anywhere.

The owners will greet the guests and help them settle in. The extent of further interaction is up to the guests. The owners are happy to help guests make arrangements for touring, shopping, arranging transportation, making restaurant reservations etc.-- as the guests wish.
The staff can cook and do laundry at a charge. A menu and laundry services with prices will be sent to guests upon request or when they arrive.A continental breakfast is included in the price of the villa. If guests wish to eat in the villa, they have two choices. Our staff can prepare food from a menu provided to guests prior to their arrival at the villa. Or the guests can shop for their own food and prepare their own meals.
Villa Santai Paloma is for the traveler who wishes to avoid the hubbub of the major tourist areas for at least a part of their stay in Bali. Guests have come here alone and in groups to paint, write, meditate, practice yoga, take in nature, photograph or just chill out, have a massage by the pool, enjoy the grounds, and views.
But there’s much more to do. Take a stroll through the local village; attend a temple ceremony; experience Balinese life in a traditional family compound. The villagers love to host guests for a brief visit or to join them for a home cooked meal of Balinese specialties. Have a fresh fish dinner in a little known fishing village– a favorite hangout of the Balinese. Hike or bike through the stunning hills and deep valleys Bali is so famous for.
More adventurous -- visit Bakas Levi Rafting and Elephant Park, a five minute walk from the villa; or take the kids on an day-trip to Bali Safari and Marine Park, one of the finest nature parks in South East Asia. For surfers, Kermas beach, famous for its international surfing competitions, is just a short drive from the village. Guests can go rafting and elephant riding just walking distance from the villa. Hikers and bikers love the area. The owners or staff can take guests around the village, eat in a village compound, visit the local market and temples etc. There is a swing, hammock and children's pool as well as full adult pool. Lots of toys for kids and books for adults.
Social gathering of more than six people are not allowed without the pre-approval of the owners. The village is small and traditional, loud music and excessive drinking are discouraged. When visiting the village and local temples discrete dress is recommend. Passports or ID cards are needed at check in.
