I'm really sorry that you didn't understand that a shared space on AirBnB is a sleeping space that is shared. Of the 3 AirBnB options (whole house, room, shared space) we have carefully chosen shared space as the option for the individual beds at the Cabbin. As you continue to use AirBnB, be sure that if you want a separate room, you filter your choices for that option.
I'm also sorry that you didn't ask about adjusting the temperature and the window. If you had asked, I would have explained how the air conditioning in the sleeping rooms upstairs and downstairs worked. There was a unit right by your bed that you could have turned on, after closing all of the windows, including that skylight right next to your bed. If I had known that the temperature upstairs had become to warm, I would have gladly and humbly made the adjustments myself. I'm sorry that one of the guests opened the skylight that has no screen. I never open that window for the very reasons you cited - noise and the possibility of insects. Please speak up when you are uncomfortable, take action, or work things out with the other guests. I am sure that most AirBnB hosts, including me, really want all our guests to be as comfortable as possible when they are sleeping.
I am glad that the rest of your stay at Mountain Home Cabbin was good and I do hope you will visit again, perhaps to rent the whole Cabbin, or one of the individual rooms in the main house that we hope to have ready in a few more years.
