Our elegant chalet is located in the center of Rome on a quiet and picturesque alley a few steps from St. Peter's and Vatican. It has two master bedrooms each with its own bathroom, an equipped kitchen, a living room and a relaxing sunny garden.
My cottage is located in the center of Rome, a few steps from St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican, but in a residential area, away from the bustle of the busiest streets. We are at the foot of a hill dominated by a small church. Here you can enjoy healthy air, a familiar and friendly atmosphere, a peace and a silence that will make you look to stay in a small village. Every morning you'll wake up with the birds singing and you will find a great pleasure to eat and relax in your sunny garden. There is also a sofa bed for one and a half, for a total of 5 comfortable beds. The house has a kitchen with refrigerator and freezer, oven, dishwasher, kitchen utensils (pots, plates, etc ...), electric kettle, toaster, blender, electric coffee maker, electric mixer and iron. My cottage is located in a quiet residential district so that now many actors have chosen it as a place to live. We are in the center of Rome but at the same time far from the traffic chaos. In three minutes you will reach the main roads where pass many buses that will take you in the heart of the Eternal City where you can visit the main tourist attractions (Vatican Museums, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, Piazza Campo de 'Fiori, Piazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Roman Forum, etc.) and the famous shopping streets (Via del Corso, Via Cola di Rienzo, etc ..). You can reach the St. Peter's Basilica on foot in 7 minutes and the nearest metro station (metro A, Ottaviano - San Pietro) on foot in about 15 minutes or by bus. In a small street next to St. Peter's Basilica you will discover the Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia. It is a famous church in the world as the Divine Mercy Shrine. Here it is preserved the blood of the Pope St. John Paul II and the image of the Merciful Jesus. The area around my cottage is also rich of green spaces and parks. In particular, you can reach the big park Villa Doria Pamphili in 15 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by bus. Here you can lose yourself in walks through the woods, see the two lakes with their fauna, go jogging or relax for a picnic. Next to this park there is the beautiful gardens of Gianicolo, famous, among other things, for its magnificent and impressive view of Rome, for the Acqua Paola’s Fountain and Children's Hospital Bambino Gesù. Finally, if you want eat the real Roman and Italian cuisine, prepared by a professional chef at your disposal, you should go next to the house where you will stay, at my Home Restaurant "Stasera cucina Tony ®". It is a unique dining experience: Savour traditional Italian home cooking inside my private home, living and enjoying for a few hours everyday life of the Romans. You can watch while I’m cooking for you and ask for advice and then we will eat all together like a big family. The menus will be into the cottage upon your arrival.
My cottage is located on a small quiet alley, without traffic and confusion, that rises to the top of a hill. Downstream there is a larger and more lively street where you will find 2 cheap supermarkets, a local market, an Irish pub, 2 restaurants, several caffetterias, a bakery, a tobacconist, a newsagent and other small shops as well as some banks and some pharmacies. This road leads to Via Gregorio VII. This is your most important road because here pass many buses that will take you both to the most popular areas of the city and in other areas of Rome less known. Also this is the road you need to take to get to St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican (7 minutes walking). On this road you will meet other caffetterias, restaurants, ice cream parlors, banks, tobacconists, newsagents, pharmacies and shops but beware of tourist traps !!! Shortly before arriving at the St. Peter’s Basilica you will meet the San Pietro railway station. Here pass two regional trains (FL3 and FL5) connecting the main railway station of Rome (Termini Station) with sites located outside Rome. In particular, the FL5 train comes up to Tuscany and also stops at the port of Civitavecchia, a famous port for cruise passengers. While the FL3 train comes to Viterbo and also stops in the beautiful town of Bracciano famous for its lake. Moreover both trains stop at Trastevere Station. From there if you take the regional train FL1 arrive up to Fiumicino Airport.
In front of the San Pietro station there is the terminal of the bus no. 64. This bus is very important because it stops next to the most famous places in Rome (Piazza Navona, Piazza Campo de’Fiori, Largo Torre Argentina, Piazza Venezia and the Colosseum) and also because the other terminus is located at the Termini Station. Here transit trains from all over Italy and also from Europe. Here transit the metro A and metro B that connect the most famous places of the center with the periphery. Here also transit the "Leonardo Express" train that arrives at Fiumicino Airport directly without making stops. Here also transit the regional train that will take you near Ciampino airport. For those who prefer to use a taxi, there are many taxi stations close to my cottage, in particular one in front of the San Pietro station and 2 are at the St. Peter's Basilica. Finally in the area there are also shops where you can rent bikes, scooters and cars.
