Not much as we live in San Francisco and our unit is on Martha's Vineyard on the East Coast.
Very historic, safe and quiet. Walking around after dark is very romantic among the old historic homes and beautiful Edgartown Harbor which is much the same as it was in the 1800's.
Some public transit, but great for biking or touring the Island by car.
By September, the ocean temps have warmed up and are great for swimming. The majority of tourists have also left the Island after Labor Day and the local kids are back in school meaning less traffic and crowds at the shops and restaurants. Great fishing, sailing, windsurfing and site seeing.
Harborside Inn personnel will be happy to brief you on the house rules.
