À propos de ce logement

The philosophy of the Loft is to provide a home away from home with functional design and nice surprises throughout the space. I welcome feedback - to keep the Loft as one of the most unique accommodations in this wonderful city

Getting around is easy with the City tram literally at the door. There is a pub across the road and you will be in walking distance to South Melbourne market, botanical gardens, loads of shops and Albert Park Lake precinct.

There are some cosy coffee shops and restaurants just up the road. Melbourne is famous for its vibrant dining culture and the possibilities are endless. There are enough high quality restaurants to explore!

A Little About Us - Your Hosts:
I have great local knowledge of the area having lived and run businesses in South Melbourne for 10 years and very willing and able to help (as live next door!).

Come And Stay In The World's Most Liveable City.

Guests have the entire Loft to themselves. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen size and one with a double bed. There are then two adult size single foldout beds which can be set out in the main living area and thus provide great accommodation option / value for a group of 6.

Laundry facilities are shared but available at all times. Single car spot available directly in front of the Loft.

I love meeting Guests and sharing local knowledge of living in South Melbourne for the last ten years and watching the suburb continue to evolve into a very special Melbourne "village"

South Melbourne has that wonderful blend of historical significance, modernity and village atmosphere all with a location that is second to none. Between the city, the beach, Albert Park Lake, the Botanical Gardens and of course with the heart of the suburb the wonderful South Melbourne market.

For the little one's there are parks galore, swans to feed and trams to ride.

I discovered South Melbourne ten years ago - and i am still discovering "new" charms....all the time.

Ok super convenient public transport. Firstly the airport trip is around 25 minutes in a cab which until Melbourne airport link arrives is the best transport option for a group.

Secondly there is a tram stop outside the front door for the number 1 tram - takes around 6 minutes into Federation square. A few hundred meters walk you will be able to pick up the 112 which takes you to the Casino and Convetion centre (5 minutes) and then up Collins St.

There is one parking spot in the drive directly in front of the Loft - free parking worth its weight in gold in inner city Melbourne these days

Everything and anything you would ever need to shop, eat and drink is in walking distance

Highlights are:
o South Melbourne Market (open all weekend) corner of Cecil and Coventry St (basically turn right out the door, walk to the lights (clarendon st), turn right, walk 3 blocks to Coventry and turn left (its at the end)
o Coventry St itself is filled with awesome shops and even better cafes (take your pick they are all superb
o Pubs (plenty of good ones including the water rat over the road, honey bar up on the clarendon st corner, golden gate and the George on Coventry st)
o Resto’s
o Excellent Greek at spitiko on Park st (just cross over clarendon and keep walking - if you hit cecil st you have gone to far)
o Excellent small plate style food on clarendon half way along to Coventry st at Hercules Morse
o Excellent pub dining at Lamaro’s on cecil (bit more upmarket)
o Great seafood at the south Melbourne market Claypots on the corner of cecil and York – very atmospheric
o Really good cheap Vietnamese at Wat da Pho (on Clarendon just over Coventry) – on the left side of the road if you are walking into the city
o Also a short tram or tax ride away is the Albert Park Hotel (where the cool kids hang out)

A perfectly situated place to stay! Walk out the front door and no matter which way it's a super quick tram into town. Or just head down the road and hang at south Melbourne markets! Super easy access into and out of the loft and clean and tidy. Great weekend had!

Good place, near many restaurants and south Melbourne Market. 8min to woolly and 10min to park. Near public transport. There are some games and so many amazing books. Richard is so responsive and answer back so fast. Belinda was so friendly and so positive. If you want to stay in this place, trust them and enjoy. Thank you Richard and Belinda. Mahsa

Right now I consider myself a very lucky person. For my work I get to both help people in need (working in International Development) and to travel to many interesting and wonderful places around the world. I like to eat street food and drink in local bars and avoid wherever I can, the bland (you could be anywhere) 4 and 5 star hotel experience. Food, wine, running (not all at the same time mind you) are all interests as well as any local festival that might be within coo-ee!!

As a guest I am friendly and unimposing having travelled so much in developing countries my expectation is that the experience is "what it is" and a "positive" attitude will mean you make the most out of it. As a host well, shortly, following a renovation I will have a cool new apartment in "the worlds most liveable city" Melbourne on the air so am very excited about this and giving all the lowdown on my great city!!
