We call our little cottage Casita Azul. It is a private house with 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with hot shower and lots of living space - a living room and comfortable front and back porches.
Words can't describe how charming this place is, take a look at the photos! Here at Casita Azul you'll have a comfortable and unique place to stay in the best of outdoor living. This little happy house is open, airy and bright. The view out of every window is trees, flowers and jungle greenery. There are lovely front and back yards for children to play, safely fenced in all around.
Note that even though we have two buildings on the property - the private Casita Azul and the guest house called Hidden Jungle Beach House - there is privacy between the two provided by nice thick palm trees and foliage. The guest house - where I live as well - is on the back of the property, so people will pass by the house now and then when walking out to the street.
1. One Bedroom has a double bed - for 2 people.
2. One bedroom has a single bed - for 1 person.
3. The living room has a sofa bed - for 2 people. And there is an air mattress available as well.
Please note that the living room offers no privacy for those using the sofa bed. The house is small and not sound proof from one room to the next.

I am Lisa Valencia, the owner, manger and everything else here at Hidden Jungle Beach House. I live in the guest house on the back of this property, with my husband, Christian. I'm a writer with a website telling you all about my experiences living in Costa Rica for ten years. I'll give you all the details on your transportation options from the airport, along with photos and instructions. You can even take a raft trip to get here! I can book your transportation and I also offer personal guide service. Once you have made your reservation, Airbnb will allow me to give you the link to my website.
When you arrive I'll show you around. Then you'll have the place to yourself. But if you need anything or have any questions, I'm most always right nearby. I enjoy my guests and am happy to provide advice and suggestions to enhance their enjoyment of the area.
IF YOU HAVE A CAR: If you are coming by car, please let me know at the time you make your reservation. Parking is limited so I have to make sure there is space for you. Thanks!
DOGS: We have one cat and two German Shepherd guard dogs. They are very sweet. The dogs do not bite. But they do bark to protect the property from intruders. When you arrive the dogs and cat will greet you as part of the family. Most all of my guests love our pets and the pets love the guests as well. They stay in the yard and sleep on the ground floor outdoor patio. The patio is a a central part of our place, with chairs and a hammock for our guests. And most are happy to share the space with the dogs. We bathe and brush the dogs regularly and do our best to keep the patio clean. Our dogs are well trained and essential for the security or our property. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE DOGS, OUR HOME MAY NOT BE THE BEST CHOICE FOR YOUR VISIT.
NOISE: We are in the jungle yet 1 minute from the beach and only 5 minutes from the town of Puerto Viejo. You'll always hear the waves. And now and then, especially on weekends and holidays you'll hear the sounds of the village coming through the jungle - music from the bars and some traffic on the road.
There are NO LAUNDRY FACILITIES available here, however there are lines to hang wet clothes. And there is laundry service available nearby.
IMPORTANT - YOUR INSTANT BOOK RESERVATION CAN BE CANCELLED IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY WITH WHAT IS LISTED HERE.

I’m Lisa Valencia, a writer and Costa Rica guide who has lived in Costa Rica’s Caribbean since 2007. I opened Hidden Jungle Beach House in 2011, running my guest house alone for 3 years. Then Cristian Montenegro came into my life and has been working with me here for the past three years. We got married in November 2016. So now at our place you have two hosts - one North American and one Nicaragua/Costa Rican.
We both believe in following our dreams and living life to the absolute fullest. And always encourage others to do the same. Many of our guests come here looking for more than a vacation. They use their time here in nature, away from the stress of the "civilized" world to ponder and reflect on their choices in life. Some go back to their lives with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Some discover a new way to live. And some don't go back at all!
Cristian and I are thankful, grateful and appreciative of every aspect of our life here - including our guests. Cristian will show you sloths and iguanas in the trees around the property. He'll tell you stories about the little agoutis who come eat our compost and the time we had a snake for a neighbor. I'll share the story of my discovery of a new life in Costa Rica. And I look forward to hearing your story and encouraging your Costa Rica dreams to come true!
