Description

Remodeled (2014) studio at The Meadows. Walk to the lifts or take the shuttle. Rustic but modern with mountain views, private balcony, large HOT tub, and X-country skiing and sledding off the back deck in the meadow. Free wifi and new ET system.

Clean west facing studio condo with a private balcony for après ski. Sleeps five with a queen bed, twin bunks, and a fold out chair that converts to a twin bed. Recent remodel includes new kitchen, bathroom, hardwood floors, furniture, paint, linens, dishes, etc. The kitchenette has a mini fridge with a separate freezer, a propane gas stovetop range, and everything you will need to cook and clean. Wood burning fireplace with free fire wood. A warm and cozy space with central heat and endless hot water. Also, new LED TV and blu ray player. Free wifi and netflix. Set up for small children and well behaved pets.

In addition to the studio, guests will have access to the vaulted, cavernous common area which includes a large fireplace with custom furniture next to the XL commercial hot tub. If you want to build a snowman, you will have access to the meadow off the back deck for nordic skiing, sledding and general snow play. Garage parking spot for one with an elevator to access the unit above. There is also a ski locker for your gear and a tuning bench. Step out the door and have access to everything Kirkwood has to offer within walking distance.

I'm available by phone anytime and live nearby.

The Meadows at Kirkwood is a 64 unit self contained condominium complex that is kid and pet friendly. By self contained I mean everything is inside the building. Including hot tub, laundry, locker room, parking, and property manager's unit. Once you pull into this well managed and secure property's underground garage, you don't have to go anywhere. Sit around the fire, read, and sip hot cocoa all day if you like. Outside the condo, The Meadows is flanked on three sides by other condominiums and out the back is Kirkwood's 300 acre beautiful alpine meadow. The village is about a 1/4 mile away and has 3 restaurants/bars, a sport shop, ski and board rentals, and cafeteria. Since Vail Resorts purchased Kirkwood Resort, I have experienced nothing less than excellent customer service. They are investing in operations upgrades and the future is bright. The skiing is world class and it's usually sunny. Kirkwood has evidence of when the West was wild and young too. A unique scene for sure. Please join us.

Getting to Kirkwood on Hwy 88 is exceptionally beautiful from either direction. Hwy 88 is also much less crowded than the other trans-sierra highways. Once you are here, you can take the shuttle all around the valley for free. It stops approximately every 15 minutes( 7:30-5:30) out front. It's an easy trot to the lifts and village across the parking lot. I prefer to walk and take in the Kirkwood vibe.

Getting to and from Kirkwood takes some planning and work. Come prepared and early. There are often road closures, and delays. Check with Caltrans and Kirkwood's page on your way up, and plan to stay awhile too! Kirkwood is the stuff of dreams and where legends , in their own minds, are born. Check it out folks!

Sage's place was so efficient and comfortable; it did not feel as small as I anticipated based on photos and stats. Considering that we were snowed in for half a day, the unit and the common areas combined made for a satisfying stay. We took advantage of access to the meadow when skiing was not open, the movie/Netflix selection is great, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking a dinner at home. Sage was quick to communicate, and accommodated us when we arrived early by letting us have access as soon as the unit was clean. We would have stayed longer if available!!

Great place, and very close to the resort (10 min walk at kid pace, prob 5 min for adults). Perfect size for a few days get away. Kids loved the bunk beds, and selection of good DVDs. Nice little kitchen with the essentials too. Would definitely stay here again.

My family and I stayed in this great little studio condominium for a ski weekend. Unfortunately on the first day, the mountain was closed due to high wind, so all four of us were stuck indoors most of the day (two adults, a six and a four year old). Despite the small size of the studio, we made do thanks to a great collection of DVDs for kids and a cozy fireplace. The room was clean, the refrigerator was large, the kitchen was well equipped. All in all, we had a great experience. Kirkwood is a great place to ski and this is a great place to stay for a few nights with a small family.

This condo is so homey and comfortable. We were able to cook breakfast and dinner, which is great because midweek dining options at Kirkwood are a little sparse. (It's a good idea to bring groceries with you. The general store here is small, pricey, and closes early.) Our son loved the bunk beds. Kirkwood is our happy place and it was so great to stay here instead of driving back and forth to South Lake! We will be back!

Very clean and organized place. Sage has everything you need in a compact space. The building is great for families and has skiing and meadows with easy access. We had fun sledding as well. A community grill and hot tub are nice additions.

I'm a rural Californian with a beautiful wife and 2 daughters whom I love to pieces. We prefer Alpine county for the great snow and skiing, uncrowded trails, and unique summer backcountry fun.
