À propos de ce logement
I love my home and having family and friends and fellow travellers to stay so they can explore the local area.
It is fantastically located, a 5-10 minute walk from the seafront, restaurants, bars, harbour and town centre.
The location of my home gives you perfect access to the town centre, the harbour and seafront. Inside the property has been styled to compliment the Victorian era and has features such as open fireplaces, wooden floorboards and other homely characteristics.
I am happy for people to bring their bikes as there are some fabulous cycle routes along the coast and around the nearby countryside.

I always like to meet my guests if I can when they initially arrive. I am happy to leave guests to their own devices or have a good ole chinwag about the area or life in general.
It is your holiday and time away, so there is absolutely no obligation to engage in conversation when you just want to relax or get out and explore .. however if you do have any questions about the house, local area, maybe recommendations for things to do, places to eat etc, then please do ask.
There is plenty to see and do around the Thanet area; Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate.
My favourite walk is along the beach to Broadstairs. Please check the tide timetables first if you want to walk on the beach! If the tide is in, then you can walk along the beach as far as you can, walk up the nearest steps/slope and carry on through King George VI Memorial Park, continue following the coastline until you arrive in Broadstairs. From my front door I would allow a good hour one way. You can either walk back, or get the Thanet Loop bus.
In Broadstairs you can visit Bleak House, made famous by Charles Dickens. There is a café in the house - ask to be seated in the lounge area for a cozy experience.
If you cross the road at the Churchill Tavern pub (which often has live music) and head right away from the harbour, you can also walk along Royal Esplanade Gardens towards Sandwich and Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve. You can catch some fabulous sunsets along this route. There are access steps/slopes along the esplanade for access to the beach if you want to skim some stones!
Cyclists, check out the Viking Coastal Trail, which is signposted. More info online.
Other sites of interest
The Grange and St Augustines Church designed by Augustus Pugin (famous for designing most of the Houses of Parliament). Both of these are a 5/10minutes walk from my house on St Augustines Road.
Second World War Tunnels. At only £5 a person for a 1.5 hour tour it’s a fabulous bargain and steeped in fascinating history.. maybe something to do if it’s raining?! The Rats café is on site, but there are no toilets so remember to go before the tour. There are some on the seafront opposite the Amusement arcades.
Look out for the circular blue plaques on buildings e.g. Van Gogh used to teach in one of the houses in Royal Road. Keep your eyes peeled.
There are plenty of other wonderful things to do and places to eat, if you have something specific in mind or have particular interests please let me know and I might be able to make some suggestions.
Have a fabulous stay :)
If you don't have a car, transport is very good. The Thanet loop runs every 7-8 minutes most of the day and the nearest stop is about 1-2minutes walk from my house. This bus literally does loop around Thanet and covers Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate.
Ramsgate train station gives you great access to Canterbury and other nearby towns and also a high speed service into St Pancras International and Stratford International.
There is a strictly no smoking policy in my home. If you do need to smoke please ask for an ashtray and use the back garden or outside the front of the house.

I'm originally a coastal lass but after a short stint in London I moved out to the countryside for some welly boot action! I love being outdoors and active and at my most happiest when I'm either climbing a mountain or traveling and discovering new cultures and cuisines :) I am now back on the edge of Kent looking out to France with sounds of the crashing waves a hop skip and a jump away at the end of my road.
