This amazing, quality built, 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom log home has 3 levels of living space. Sleeps 8 comfortably. The cabin has excellent fiber optic broadband Internet / wifi.

Four TVs with Roku streaming, many board games, high-end furniture, wood floors, walls and ceilings. Granite counters, big open kitchen, hardwood floors, custom built-ins, vaulted ceilings, heated tile floors on the lower level, awesome outdoor fire pit. Gas stove fireplace on the lower level. Plenty of room for everyone to enjoy.

Main Level: Vaulted ceiling great room, which includes the kitchen, dining room, bedroom and a spacious bathroom.

Kitchen has an island, four bar stools, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, plenty of dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils, mixer, griddle, toaster, etc.

Dining area has a beautiful wooden table with 6 chairs. Table can handle 8 people if needed.

Bedroom includes a king size sleep-number bed, and ultra-comfortable bedding. There is also a sizable closet, with additional blankets in case you need them. There is a also a TV in the bedroom.

The spacious bathroom includes a tub/shower and beautiful tile floor. Nice glass bowl sink, on top of a converted antique dresser vanity.

Lower Level: Living area with three comfortable chairs, a queen sleeper sofa and a large flat-screen TV. The living area also has comfortable, plush carpet. There is a door from the living area directly out to the lower deck with a seating area.

The lower level bedroom has a king size memory foam bed and great bedding. The bedroom and en suite bathroom have a heated tile floor. The bathroom has a shower and, like the main level bathroom, a glass bowl sink on a converted antique dresser. There is a dresser and (website hidden) mounted on the wall.

Finally, the lower level has a closet with a high end, front loading washer and dryer.

Upper level: The upstairs bedroom includes a comfortable, pillow-top bed (queen sized). The room has a vaulted ceiling and built in shelves. Bathroom includes a shower/tub combination and pedestal sink.

Walk down the hill through the back yard to get to the creek. Have fun playing in the creek, or just relaxing next to it.

The cabin is close to West Jefferson's downtown area, the arts district, Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian State University, Ski attractions. Hike to Beaver Creek, Ashe Lake, and the lake waterfall.

Short drive (~15 minutes) to Wal-Mart, Ingles, gas stations, and restaurants.

This agreement is incorporated by reference into and made a part of the agreements between Owners and Tenants through Airbnb website.

This Rental Agreement and Contract (the “Agreement”) is a legally binding agreement made and entered into as of the Reservation Dates ( found on the vacation rental website) and between the person(s) or company (the “Guest or Tenant / Renter or anyone who the Guest invites onto the property”) and the owners, Keith and Carolyn Dowdy, Beaver Creek Hill NC, LLC, or manager, broker, or real estate agent (“Owner or Rental Agent”), pursuant to which the Guest has agreed to rent the residence described as 637 Monticello Drive, West Jefferson, NC (the “Property”), for the duration of the Rental Term for the Total Rental Fee as described online by Airbnb (short term “Vacation Rental Website”) and other good and valuable consideration as described herein or online. Guests will abide by rental agreement set forth by online short term vacation rental website provider. Guest name, dates, payments, security deposit, insurance, fees, minimum nights required, etc. are stated online. Manager has access to updated calendar with guest name and dates of occupancy online.
OCCUPANCY Guest agrees that no more than [10] persons shall be permitted on the Property at any time during the Rental Term, all of whom shall comply with the conditions and restrictions imposed upon Guest under this Agreement. Check-in time is at 4pm and Check-out time is 11am at the property. Check in / out instructions, access code, and driving directions will be provided before arrival date. The failure of a guest or the guest of a tenant to vacate a residential property or enter property as per rental agreement shall constitute as trespassing in accordance with North Carolina law. Guest agree that Tenant is over the age of 24, and that at least one person over the age of 24 will occupy the property throughout the tenancy.
CANCELLATION POLICY The cancellation policy of the Vacation Rental website from which the property was rented will be the prevailing policy for this Agreement. Please refer back to the booking website where the policy is clearly stated.
CONDITION AND USE OF PROPERTY The Property is provided in “as is” condition. Rental Agent shall use its best efforts to ensure the operation of all amenities in the Property, such as internet access, internet or cable TV access, gas replace, air conditioning etc. as applicable. Rental Agent shall not be held responsible for such items failure to work, but will make every effort to correct any issues as reported as quickly as possible. Guest acknowledges that use of amenities such as hot tubs, spas, replaces, decks, grills and the like may be potentially dangerous and involve potential risks if improperly used, particularly with regard to children and such use is at the Guest’s own risk.
Guest agrees to comply with all obligations imposed by NC Vacation Rental Act with respect to maintenance of the premises, including but not limited to, keeping the premises clean and safe as the conditions of the premises permit and causing no unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
Guest shall use the Property for residential purposes only and in a careful manner to prevent any damage or loss to the Property. Guest and any additional permitted guests shall not disturb, annoy, endanger, or inconvenience neighbors, nor shall Guest use the Property for any immoral, offensive or unlawful purposes, nor violate any law, association rules, covenants, or ordinance, nor commit waste or nuisance on or about the Property. POA covenants for the Ashe Lake community in which the property is located indicate: hunting by rearm in the community is not permitted. Posted and no trespass signs and purple vertical markings on the trees surrounding the property have been marked reminding hunters they are not allowed on the property.
ADVANCE PAYMENTS Online short term rental website, the rental agent may disburse funds prior to the occupancy of the property by the tenant to the property owner as permitted under the NC Vacation Rental Act.
SECURITY DEPOSIT Guest agrees to pay a security deposit, the amount of which has been negotiated on the vacation rental website and made part of the agreement, as security of this rental agreement. The security deposit or insurance payout may be applied to actual damages caused by the Guest as permitted under the NC Tenant Security Deposit Act. To the extent permitted by the NC Vacation Rental Act, Tenant agrees to be financially responsible for all damages caused by Guest / Tenant’s guests in excess of the amount of the security deposit . Extra housekeeping shall be charged at $30 an hour. Please follow house manual / check-out instructions to keep from getting this charge. Guest agrees not to remove any of owner’s property from the premises, and agrees to reimburse the owner for any missing or damaged property.
DEFAULT If Guest should fail to comply with the conditions and obligations of this Agreement, Guest shall surrender the Property, remove all Guest’s property and belongings and leave the Property in good order and free of damage. No refund of any portion of the Total Rental Fee shall be made and if any legal action is necessary, the prevailing party shall be entitled to reimbursement from the other party for all costs incurred.
ASSIGNMENT OR SUBLEASE Guest shall not assign or sublease the Property or permit the use of any portion of the Property by other persons who are not family members or guests of the Guest and included within the number of and as permitted occupants under this Agreement.
RISK OF LOSS AND INDEMNIFICATION Guest agrees that all personal property, vehicles, furnishings, personal affects and other items brought into or left on the Property by Guest or their permitted guests and visitors shall be at the sole risk of Guest with regard to any theft, damage, destruction or other loss and Rental Agent shall not be responsible or liable for any reason whatsoever. Guest hereby covenants and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Rental Agent and their agents, owners, successors, employees and contractors from and against any costs, damages, liabilities, claims, legal fees and other actions for any damages, costs, attorneys fees incurred by Guest, permitted guests, visitors or agents, representatives or successors of Guest due to any claims relating to destruction of property or injury to persons or loss of life sustained by Guest or family and visitors of Guest in or about the Property and Guest expressly agrees to save and hold Rental Agent harmless in all such cases.
RELEASE Guest hereby waives and releases any claims against Rental Agent, the Property owner and their successors, assigns, employees or representatives, ofcially or otherwise, for any injuries or death that may be sustained by Guest on or near or adjacent to the Property, including any common facilities, activities or amenities. Guest agrees to use any such facilities or amenities entirely at the Guest’s own initiative, risk and responsibility.
ENTRY AND INSPECTION Rental Agent reserves the right to enter the Property at reasonable times and with reasonable advance notice for the purposes of inspecting the Property or showing the Property to prospective purchasers, renters, other authorized persons. or make repairs (minor construction) If Rental Agent has a reasonable belief that there is imminent danger to any person or property, Rental Agent may enter the Property without advance notice.
UNAVAILABILITY OF PROPERTY In the event the Property is not available for use during the Rental Term due to reasons, events or circumstances beyond the control of Rental Agent, Rental Agent shall immediately return all payments made by the Guest, whereupon this Agreement shall be terminated and Guest and Rental Agent shall have no further obligations or liabilities in any manner pertaining to this Agreement.
SALE OF PROPERTY In the event the property is sold and occupancy is to end 180 days or less after the transfer is recorded, Guest has the right to enforce this Agreement. If the tenancy ends more than 180 days after such recordation, and if the successor-in-interest has not agreed to honor this Agreement, tenant has no right to enforce the terms of this Agreement and is entitled to all advance rent paid. Owners will reimburse all advance rent paid to Guest within 10 days of recordation.
ADDITIONAL TERMS TO THE RENEWAL AGREEMENT In addition to the standard terms included herein, Guest acknowledges and agrees that the following additional terms and conditions apply to the Guest’s
rental of the Property:
GENERAL PROVISIONS This Agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties with regard to the rental of the Property, and any changes, amendments or modications hereof shall be void unless the same are in writing and signed by both the Guest and the Rental Agent. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of North Carolina. The words “Rental Agent” and “Guest / Tenant” shall include their respective heirs, successors, representatives. The waiver or failure to enforce any breach or provision of this Agreement shall not be considered a waiver of that or any other provision in any subsequent breach thereof. If any provision herein is held invalid, the remainder of the Agreement shall not be affected. Any notice required to be given under this Agreement shall be in writing and sent to the contact information included herein.
THIS AGREEMENT IS INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE INTO THE ELECTRONIC AGREEMENT BETWEEN OWNERS AND TENANTS. Conflicts between the terms on Airbnb and this agreement shall be resolved in favor of this agreement. By booking a reservation through Airbnb, Tenant and Owners agree to the terms of this Agreement, and recognize its full force and effect, without signature.

We made the last minute decision to evacuate from south Florida for hurricane Irma. Carolyn was very quick to respond and urged us to come up a day sooner than we paid. Thank god for that because getting out was hell and would have been so much worse if she didn't give us that extra day. My anxiety of leaving my home was getting the best of my pregnant body but the second my service dog, two kids, husband, and I walked into this cabin..all my worries faded away. The warm vibes and beautiful view, there really are no words to explain how great this place was for our family. We met with my sister and her family and fit all 8 of us very comfortably. We will definitely be back to experience this cabin under better circumstances. Maybe when is snows so our Florida born family can go sledding down the mountain :)

Lovely remote setting, enjoyed the porch swing/bed with the sound of the creek coming up to lull me to sleep as my brothers and I sat around in the late evening. The den on the lower level was very nice, and the kids played there a good bit, but the grown ups ended up hanging out around the kitchen and the covered porch. The home had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Thanks Carolyn!

Fantastic retreat in the middle of the mountains with a river running through the property. Very relaxing, has all the modern amenities, very clean and spacious. Owners are very nice and provide excellent tips and directions. Will definitely stay here again in the future!

Perfect for a 2 family mountain escape. Two king suites and spare bedroom made the sleeping arrangements very comfortable. The view of the creek and hills from the deck made it very relaxing. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We only contacted the owner one time during the trip for help with wifi and Carolyn was very quick to help us figure that out. Once connected, the wifi signal/strength was very good. The welcome letter that was provided was very complete with driving directions, house rules and instructions for accessing the house. I can't say enough good things. The trip was exactly what we had hoped for. West Jefferson is such a cute little town, the property was beautiful and the owners were great. One attraction I highly recommend, if you are staying here is tubing, kayaking or canoeing down the New River with New River Outfitters (25 minute drive). This was probably the highlight of the trip. The price was very reasonable and a fun way to cool down on a hot day.

This cabin will exceed expectations. It is so relaxing and serene with the sounds of the creek a constant companion. The covered front porch is so relaxing and outdoor fire pit is an amazing place to cap a fun family day. Very convenient location to explore West Jefferson, Boone and the rest of the scenic NC high country. Very clean and updated cabin. Carolyn is super responsive and will quickly address any questions or requests you may have.

Can't say enough great things about the cabin and Carolyn (the host). The cabin is secluded and very cozy! We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but luckily there's grocery stores nearby. Loved the sound of the nearby river while spending relaxing time in the covered porch. We have rented several cabins in the past and this one definitely stands out amongst the rest.

We purchased this beautiful log home as a vacation home to share with our friends and large family. My husband and I live in Apex North Carolina a 3 hour car ride from the cabin. We enjoy spending time at the cabin with our four children and extended family. We enjoy renting out the cabin for others to enjoy when we can't be there.
