À propos de ce logement
Beautiful room on ground floor of 4 storey house, 150m from tube and shops. Two single beds, own entrance, kitchenette, en suite shower and basin. Share of guest toilet next to room (though not often used except by dinner guests). Use of laundry.
We offer a beautiful and peaceful room on the ground floor of our Victorian house, in a great location. We are close to the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines which gets you to Oxford Circus in 15 minutes. We are also close to two major supermarkets, many restaurants, shops and cinema.
The room has an en-suite shower and handbasin, but the loo is situated outside the room, across the passage, and is used when we have guests for dinner. Two single beds have linen sheets and cotton duvets covers; pillows and duvets are down (or hypo allergenic if you prefer.) The small kitchenette has a fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery, and some tea and coffee.
On the same floor is the laundry ( which can be used per arrangement) and our family room. The bedroom has its own private entrance and patio on the street side. Wifi throughout.
Please note that this room is part of a family house. As such, there will be the usual noises of a family - the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen, children practising violin and piano (though we would curtail this to daylight hours, or you could specify if you would like to take a nap). In addition the house has two friendly cats which shouldn't be allowed out on the street side - and people allergic to cats should probably not visit.
Accès des voyageurs
Access to the house is limited to the ground floor - where the room, the laundry and the toilet is located. The rest of the house is out of bounds for guests. You have access to the laundry facilities, by arrangement, also on the ground floor.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
While it is a quiet space, both the family room next door and the laundry are used daily (especially late afternoons) so you will see the odd child or cat going up and down the stairs. I am around to dispense information or help with travel arrangements, so interaction can be as much or as limited as you want. Check in and check out is negotiable as well.
Although we are close to a busy intersection, we love the fact that our house is peaceful and quiet. There's a great coffee shop on one corner, a Japanese tea shop and patisserie on another, Waitrose up the road and a farmer's market on Saturday mornings close by. We are a shortish walk to Hampstead high street and a short busride (or a longer walk) to Hampstead Heath and Regent's Park.
We are close to buses and Finchley Road tube which gives access to the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines. Both intersect with Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines so transport to and from airports and stations is easy. Parking is restricted, but really, you don't need a car as public transport is so fabulously convenient.
We have rules that would apply to most family homes: no smoking in the house, no entertaining, no loud music especially at night, and no noise on the outside patio as we are in a terrace house, so close to our neighbours.
