Description

An eclectic guest house 3 blocks from the Canal streetcar, 10 minute ride to the FQ and CBD. Separate 2nd story unit with a private, gated entrance and rooftop deck overlooking downtown. Close to Finn McCools, Whole Foods, and Bayou St. John.

Typical old New Orleans guest house built over several rounds of updates dating back a century. It's quirky as can be, yet comfortable and charming.

Bedroom - queen bed, iron/ironing board, closet, dresser
Living Room - queen sleeper sofa, TV, dining table
Kitchen - mini-fridge, coffee maker, oven, microwave
Bath - hair dryer, straightener, toiletries
Office - desk

We've dubbed it the "Crows Nest" since it sits higher than the main house.

The Crows Nest is not an ideal option for folks with limited mobility however, as there are several ups & downs involved.

We've got a baby so if you need to borrow a pack-n-play or stroller, we've got you covered.

Also note that longer stays are required for special events like Mardi Gras (4-days) and Jazz Fest (3-days each weekend) & the Sugar Bowl (2-days) to name a few. Airbnb does not have a way to specify this in the calendar so this note is the best I can do. If you're coming in for a special event, please don't be offended if I'm not up for having you 1 night. Rates vary as well depending on day of week and if there is an event going on, so that $125 you see on the listing my not be accurate, but hey, sometimes it's lower!

Complementary 6-pack, coffee, assorted teas, internet, washer/dryer, roof-top deck, mini-fridge, and 2 bikes.

Also pack-n-play and stroller available to borrow if you have a little one.

I work from home and am more than willing to help guest with any questions or issues they have. Pretty much I'm always available and on-site.

Mid-City, as the name indicates, is right in the middle of everything. Streetcar to the Quarter, CBD, and Uptown. It's a short ride to the Marigny and Bywater. There are tons of bars and restaurants within a short walk from the house and the neighbors are all very friendly. Mid-City is where it's at right now in NOLA!

Groceries - Whole Foods, Rouses, Winn-Dixie, Ideal Market

Bars - Finn McCools, 12-Mile Limit, Treo, Sidebar, Holy Ground, Bayou Beer Garden, D-Macks, Wits-Inn

Restaurants - Parkway Po-Boys, Mandina's, Theos, Juan's Flying Burrito, Mona's Cafe, Namese, Brown Butter, Venezia, Milkfish, Angelo Brocato, Panera Bread, 5-Guys, Filepe's...there's many more.

We're just three blocks off of the Canal streetcar line and it's a 10 minute ride (depending on traffic) to Bourbon St. Taxis and Uber are normally very quick to respond and can get you anywhere for about $10.

We are flexible with regard to check in and check out times but like to have them set with each guest prior to their arrival so we can plan around them. Unless arraignments have been made prior, check in is at 3pm and check out at 11am. We'll certainly hold your stuff for you if these time don't exactly align with your schedule.

Règlement intérieur

Houses in NOLA are old and built closely together. As a result outside noise travels inside easily. Guests are expected to keep noise levels down when coming and going as to not disturb the neighbors.

For the same noise issues, you won't be able to use the deck after 10PM.

No smoking inside.

No guests other than those identified during the rental process will be allowed to come over.

I have a MPH and a love for design! I currently run a graphic design business focused solely on public health, Simatai Public Health Communications. I live with my wife, also an MPH-er, in a lovely home in Mid City, New Orleans. We love to travel, hang out on the porch, and read.
