We were so lucky to be in such a gorgeous location, that equally had such accomodating hosts. Al and Maureen are fantastically welcoming and helpful, the view is incredible, and the suite is clean, comfortable and fully equipped. They were flexible with arrival, and helped us figure out places to visit and people to meet. In a storm they were very swift to call us to let us know the power outage was the whole house, and assure us it should be on again soon. Also the wifi was fast and strong enough for my partner doing all his work from home every day. I would 100% recommend this place for short vacation or long work stays.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Al and Maureen's place for two months this winter and are already scheming about when we can go back next. Al and Maureen were traveling for most of the time we were there, but were very helpful and accommodating in answering our questions, getting us settled in, and checking in on us even from the other side of the world. Once back in town, they were very generous and helpful. Very happy we got the chance to meet them. The space was very cozy, with a comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, and great view of the lake (and good access in warmer months, I would imagine). Also, right down the road (walking distance) from Pulpit rock, a nice hike that overlooks the lake and city of Nelson. Other reviews (and Al) had warned us that wifi wasn't always great, and initially it was spotty, but they bent over backwards to improve it and were very successful! Once they made those adjustments, we had no problems and we very much appreciated their efforts. This suite was very much our home away from home while we were there and I highly recommend it to others!

Great place right on the lake, beautiful view, quiet and secluded getaway but still close enough to town. Great hiking trail across the road.

Al was a great communicator leading up to and during our stay, answering all our questions quickly. We loved relaxing on the patio for breakfast, taking in the view of the lake and townsite. Though there were a couple of bear sightings while staying at Al 's lovely place, the place itself was clean and the place was fully equipped for our lovely stay in Nelson. Their quiet lakeside suite helped ensure we could enjoy the area as much as possible.

We appreciated the beautiful location of the Lakeside Suite; the large deck, yard and beach on Kootenay Lake kept drawing us in during our stay, and the lights of Nelson across the lake were gorgeous at night. Maureen made us welcome when we arrived and gave us homemade muffins, along with coffee roasted by Al. The canoe was available, but sadly, we didn't take advantage of it. We did get a taste of hiking in the area, and also enjoyed the free ferry and explored Crawford Bay on the other side, with its eclectic artisan community. The kitchen was well equipped, although it and the bathroom are a bit small. The decor is colorful, with art from Al and Maureen's travels throughout. We had some trouble with the weak wifi signal. On the whole, the suite is a great value and made a delightful location for what we hope is the first of several visits to Nelson.

Al and Maureen greeted us like family and welcomed us into their lovely home. They were available to answer questions and gave us a good description of the local area and attractions. We had delicious home made jam and freshly roasted coffee beans waiting for us in the well equipped and tastefully decorated basement suite. The suite is cosy and warm and was set up with everything we needed for our stay and has an amazing view out across the lake to Nelson city. Thanks Al and Maureen for making us feel at home and being so helpful, we have had a very comfortable and happy stay.
