Sunny, quiet room with own bathroom, view of park. DSL. Joint use of complete kitchen/balcony. Subway, buses, stores, food service of all kinds nearby. Apartment also used during the day by translation agency and 2nd tenant.

More than just a room
The view from the room's large window looks out across the street to Eimsbütteler Park, with its old trees and a small lake. In the morning the sun can be seen rising over the trees, where it stays in view until early afternoon. Of course, we cannot guarantee that the forecast will always predict clear weather.

The lavishly restored, 147-square-meter art nouveau apartment with high stucco ceilings and pitch pine floors is in a building listed as a historic monument. Apart from yourself, only one other tenant lives in the large apartment, likewise with a separate bathroom of their own.

A small translation agency which is not open to the public has its offices in two of the rooms Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with its own entrance right next to the door of the apartment and with its own toilet. The work done in the office – translating, proofreading – makes for a quiet atmosphere.

The rest of the time, as well as on weekends and holidays, the apartment is used only by the two tenants.

This is more than just a room with a bathroom.

For the guests
The corridor (18 square meters) and the fully equipped kitchen (14 square meters) with television, large refrigerator, dining table and a small balcony is at the free disposal of the tenants, as well as the storeroom. LAN and WLAN is available in all the rooms, including the kitchen. There is also a washing machine, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, intercom and elevator.

Bedclothes, face towels and bath towels are provided. The rent includes heat and all utilities, as well as the cost of an obligatory cleaning of all the rooms every fourteen days, organized by the landlords.

The guests and ourselves
We live in a different apartment in the same house. We speak not only German, but also English, French and Spanish, and would like to help our temporary Hamburgers quickly feel comfortable and at home.
On request, we will be happy to provide tips on our neighborhood and, of course, on the surrounding area, such as the Alster and Elbe rivers, Hafencity port or the Baltic and North Seas. We can recommend restaurants, theaters and cinemas – including those with original language versions – and give you tips on particular places to shop or enjoy nature, museums and boat tours on the Alster or the Elbe. We have also committed some suggestions to paper, and have even noted a few in the immediate vicinity in the Airbnb guide.
We will always have a friendly ear for you if you have any questions or wishes concerning the furnishings or anything else.

A restful village in the middle of the big city
A village in the middle of the big city: quiet, narrow streets with trees and art nouveau houses, where the people are neighborly and regularly greet one another. You can feel how restful it is as soon as you turn into the street, leaving the bustle of the city behind you, and come back home.

Yet only five minutes away, in the vicinity of Osterstraße (also a subway station) and Heußweg, you have the Eimsbüttel center with a department store, banks, supermarkets of every quality, bookstores, organic food stores and butcher shops, pharmacies (from 8:00 am to 12:00 am), a post office and stores specializing in all conceivable kinds of goods, whether clothing or bicycles, cosmetics or shoes, ice cream or outdoor gear.

Here you can also find restaurants to suit every taste: Syrian, Sardinian, Italian, Thai, Mexican, Turkish, Palatinate and modern German cuisine – even vegan. The "Kochhaus" offers recipes together the right ingredients already packaged. And of course there are cafés, as well as bars that stay open into the wee hours.

Right around the corner is the acclaimed "Kleine Konditorei" pastry shop, which also carries breakfast rolls. Or the "Café Deike", if you prefer a ready-made sandwich.

Just walking out the door takes you to the park across the street, where you can relax under the trees or at the small café. Or go jogging. And if you want more than just jogging, you can go around the corner to the "Meridian Spa Eppendorf", which has won awards for its fitness, sauna, swimming pool, ayurveda ... And later pay a visit to "Birdland", the jazz club extraordinaire one block farther down in Gärtnerstraße.

Or take a walk to "Kaifu", the municipal outdoor and indoor swimming pool in a historic building. And so on and so forth ... It will be our pleasure to tell you more in person, and about the entire city.

The closest subway station is five minutes away (U2, Osterstraße). It will quickly take you to the Alster and the city center, the main train station, the Elbe or Hafencity. The neighborhood shopping center is also located around the subway station.

Bus stops for lines 4, 20, 25 and 181, which run all over the city, are also only minutes away.

Bicycle rental stations abound, forming a network that covers the whole city. The red bikes can be rented by mobile phone: "s

You can also rent a car and simply leave it at your destination with services such as " or "

The city's linked transport system, hvv, also operates the Elbe river boats, which you can use for the price of a bus ticket. This way, you can get to know the city and port from the water, as well.

Moin Moin
What does moin moin mean?
In Low German, "Moin" means "Morgen" ("morning"). But "moin moin" comes from the Dutch or Flemish "mooi" meaning "good" or "lovely".
So people in Hamburg use "moin moin" as a greeting not only in the morning, but all day long and even at night.

Règlement intérieur

A few things we ask of our guests.

Please do not wear street shoes in the apartment owing to the oiled floor and the downstairs neighbors. You can put your shoes on a shelf in the hallway at the left right behind the entrance door.

Unfortunately, smoking is not permitted inside the apartment. You are welcome to smoke on the balcony if you keep the door closed.

As a rule, the translation agency works from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Translating and proofreading require a high level of concentration and hence a low level of noise. This is an advantage for our guests, but also something we expect from you.

The accommodation looks exactly like the photos uploaded by Christoph - no surprises there. In fact, it was cleaner and more beautiful than I expected. The sofa-bed, the television, the sheets, towels, bathroom - everything was cleaner than in a hotel. The kitchen is very very well equipped and very convenient. Huge fridge with reserved storage space for me, electric cooking range, microwave, dishwasher, washing maching - all in perfect condition. I couldnt ask for a more comfortable experience in my first few weeks in Hamburg. Moreover, the apartment is located in a perfect neighbourhood. There is a park just across the apartment. Tall beautiful trees. Coffee shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries - all just a stone's throw away. In short, the apartment and the location were perfect!! Christoph, the host, is a wonderful person and very professional with his interactions with me as a tenant. He was there on the first day to receive me at the exact time that he had mentioned. He gave me a tour of the apartment, with manuals in English and German on the apartment and the surrounding areas. He lives in his apartment 2 floors below in the same building, and is always available for help / advice whenever it is needed. There is never any disturbance. If Christoph needed to communicate with me, he would always send me an email to agree a time. Thank You Christoph for making my stay so pleasant and comfortable!!
