Victorian “painted lady" with easy walking distance to the Walnut Street Bridge and artsy Frazier Avenue with its eclectic shops and restaurants, Coolidge Park, the Aquarium and Hunter Museum. Convenient drive to Rock City, Ruby Falls, and more.

Le logement

This 1890 Victorian 'painted lady,' was one of the very first homes to be built on Chattanooga’s North Shore. This stately home has been neither ‘restored’ nor ‘remodeled;’ instead it has been ‘reconciled,’ combining lovely architectural features of a bygone era with modern conveniences. This reconciliation is still in progress, as the updating and maintaining of a century-old structure is an on-going process. The house boasts an original and welcoming wrap-around front porch; a private screened-in deck accessible from two bedrooms; and a large, partially screened-in deck which is, in effect, an outdoor great room. Visitors are encouraged to tickle the ivories of the baby grand piano in the parlor. With 11’ ceilings downstairs and 10’ ceilings upstairs, the home’s spacious rooms feel even more so. Three large guest rooms, each with an en suite bathroom and one with a mini-kitchenette, are available on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis.

Accès des voyageurs

Karen was very nice and made our first stay at an AirBnB super easy! The house was beautiful, clean and accomodating. It is very close walking distance to shops, restaurants and city nightlife, which we were able to take full advantage of. Perfect for anyone wanting to see the city!

This was our first time using Airbnb and it went even better than I expected. Checking in and using Karen's home was so easy. The home was built in 1870 and has some of the original woodwork, huge windows, nice porch etc. However, the common rooms of the house and the room we were staying were very large. Our room Included a kitchenette area with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, small dining table and chairs, plus plenty of space to move around. The bed was comfortable as was a reading chair and floor lamp. Our private bath, in our suite, had a large shower, but the bathroom itself was very small. My only difficulty was having a spot in the bathroom to put my toiletries. However, the kitchenette is just outside of the bathroom and I used it's roomy counter space for toiletries etc. Karen told us there were 2 other couples staying in the house, but we would never have known it. Karen did offer to cook breakfast for us, but our schedule did not allow it. The house location is ideal. Fantastic for walking to shops, etc.

Staying with Karen was a delightful experience. Her home is lovely - she has put her heart and soul into this beautiful Victorian house, and you can see and feel it! And Karen is lovely. Her genuine graciousness and heartfelt interest in her guests make you feel like you've come to stay with an old friend, even on your first visit. We were perfectly comfortable, had everything we needed, got excellent recommendations for how to enjoy all that downtown Chattanooga has to offer, all within walking distance, AND we had homemade blueberry muffins for breakfast! We would love to stay with Karen again!!
