Whether you're on an udon tour, traveling around the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage, or just wanting to relax in the peaceful countryside, this is a great location to stay. Great for short-term, working holiday, or longer!

This is a dorm style room with private bathroom (toilet and sink.) The house shower is shared by all house residents and guests.
Guests will have a personal key to their room during their stay.

Guests can use the common areas in the house as they like. (Kitchen, laundry, bathroom, dining.) Internet provided.
For short term guests (1 week and shorter), shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry detergent, will be provided. Long term guests (over 1 week) will need to buy these items.

The house is an international house with residents from all over the world. We would like to interact with guests as much as possible depending on our work and personal schedules. House dinners are often held with guests.

The area is very beautiful countryside. There is a train station about a 5 min. drive (25 min. walk) from the house. (About 800 yen by taxi, although we can usually pick-up and drop-off guests at the station if our schedule allows.)
There are many shops in the area (electronics, supermarkets, hardware shops, convenience stores.)

Train and taxi are the main transportation in the area. One bicycle is available at the house (first come, first serve basis). There is also 1 motor scooter available to rent for guests with international drivers license or Japan drivers license.

Here is close to Takasē station. It takes about 7 mins by taxi(around ¥1000). The host Jeremy is a very easygoing person. He helped me a lot: reply me very fast, and provide me useful information. Here is a beautiful countryside, very quiet.

Overall fantastic experience. Before my stay, Jeremy was very helpful with altering my reservation and very quick to respond via e-mail. He sent many helpful videos on how to get to his building and how to use various things there. The room itself was very comfortable, clean and private. The shared spaces (shower, kitchen, dining room, etc) were also very clean and spacious, and it was made very clear to me that I could use everything as I chose to. The location is good, but could be a bit difficult to get to without a car or, in my case, a bicycle. However, for one doing the 88 temple pilgrimage in Shikoku, this is a perfect location, as there are many temples in the surrounding area. I was able to meet Jeremy upon arrival, and he was a very friendly and welcoming person, and I wish I had had the chance to speak to him more. He invited me to a nabe party to be held on the second night of my stay, but unfortunately other circumstances prevented me from going--but it was still a very kind offer. I highly recommend this airbnb.

It is a really nice place. A bit far from the station but Jeremy gave me a lift to the station. And showed me a nice udon place. It is a god place to relax and see the nature. But you might be better of if you have a car

I did not meet Jeremy during my stay but Chris. He was really nice. I felt sick during my stay and he helped me a lot, he found me a clinic open on sunday and drove me there immediately. He was very helpfull and I owe him my throat, which was hurting very bad. The house itself is very big and clean. It has an american style, so you basically have whatever you need inside. It is quite isolated from Takase and a bit lonely, however. I cannot say why, but the emptyness and largeness of the house made me feel odd. The house is located 30 min by feet from the Takase station. If you do not have any car, you are stuck because the road goes on the landfields without any shadow (and August was very sunny, so it was a hard time). Fortunately, Chris drove me to the station a couple of time.

I love music, photography, and cycling.
I have lived in Kagawa, Japan since 2006 and speak English and Japanese.

I recommend Kagawa to anyone who wants to see a hidden treasure of Japan, which is off the beaten path.
