Enjoy Japanese traditional house in Tokyo:)
This one story house features a nice old fashioned Japanese space reminiscent of the movie “My Neighbor Totoro”.
The Japanese style veranda with great exposure to sunlight will allow you to rest up from your travels. If you are staying the summer, have a cold beer while listening to wind-chime! I am sure that you will be able to have a great experience of Japanese summer.
You can also enjoy the Japanese winter in the kotatsu, a Japanese table with blanket and heater, while eating tangerines!
Also, the bathroom has been renovated so it is very spacious!!
I hope you get to relax after a long day of traveling in the large sized bathtub.
This house is excellent for couples and families that are planning to go sightseeing in Tokyo. I am sure that this place will help make your trip to Tokyo a very memorable one!
Please take a look at some pictures and also more details below:
About the house
The whole bathroom (bathtub, toilet, sink, etc.) has just been renovated in December 2014 so it is very clean. It has two bedrooms, dining/living room and a kitchen with a total space of 50 square meters.
※If you are more than 5 people, the futon can be put in the living room.
※It may be a little bit tight for 8 adults.
Good for 7 adults and a child.
Each bedroom has a double bed(for 2) and a semi double bed(for 2).
Then 4 sets of Japanese style futons so up to 8 people can stay.
The bedroom is facing south, so you will wake up to plenty of sunlight.
Also, all rooms have windows, providing a sense of openness.
The room is designed to make you feel relaxed, so please enjoy the comfortable atmosphere with your significant other or your family.
Areas around the house
The house is about 13 minutes walk from Takadanobaba station!
There are grocery stores and convenience stores within five minutes walk.
Takadanobaba is famous for ramen so you will be able to find many different kinds of ramen that you would not be able to find in Shinjuku or Shibuya. There are also many famous ramen places so you will be able to check them out too.
Furthermore, the area is close to universities so there are many places that are very delicious and cheap with ample servings, including teishoku places, sushi restaurants and izakayas. (I can give personal recommendations to guests too!)
There is Kanda river about five minutes walk from the place, which is famous for the cherry blossoms along the side of the river. In the spring, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful flowers and because it’s so close, you can even see them at night! If you want any recommendations for places to go see cherry blossoms, please let me know.
Also, there is a large park called “Otomeyama Koen” which is rare to find in Tokyo. If you are lucky, you might encounter a raccoon in the park. In the summer, the park has firefly festival. The entrance fee is free so I highly recommend this place to take a walk and enjoy plants native to Japan.
Location wise, Takadanobaba is within 10 minutes from tourist spots such as Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku. In other words, it can be considered to be located in a perfect place for sightseeing!
Area around the house are excellent locations but the house itself is in a quiet neighborhood and will surely provide you comfort during your trip (unlike the busy Shibuya and Shinjuku area).
Towels are not provided like a hotel but feel free to use shampoos, etc.
Of course, you may use kitchen-wares as you wish!
I love cooking so there are many condiments and cooking utensils available for your use.
Great location within 13 minutes walk from Takadanobaba station on the Yamanote line.
(Shimo-ochiai station on the Seibu-Shinjuku line is just 5 minutes walk. Shimo-ochiai is just one stop away from Takadanobaba station (2 minutes))
Also, access from Narita airport is excellent as well, with just one transfer to the house.

Hello from Tokyo!
My name is Erika and I was born and raised in Tokyo. I started using Airbnb from 2014!
I am looking forward to meeting many people from various countries. I am looking forward to your messages :)
My friends call me "Erika" and my hobbies are traveling, watching movies, making accessories, which I started recently, and also eating great food!.
I haven't had the chance to travel as much since finishing school but I have been to Europe, US and Asia when I was a student.
For guests, I can give recommendations on places to go and eat, where only locals would know.
If I am available, I can plan dinners/drinks with my friends so if you are interested in interacting with local Japanese here, please let me know.
I hope your stay in my place will make your trip a memorable one!
I am looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo!
