We enjoy assisting all of our guests as much as we possibly can. We also prepared a very comprehensive guide to our home and neighborhood.
Our neighborhood is called "Yanahuara" and is one of the oldest and still quite traditional neighborhoods in Arequipa. There are cobblestone streets and much of the architecture is built from the locally quarried lava stone called "Sillar". Yanahuara has it's own plaza and lookout point "Mirador de Yanahuara a block away. You can walk to Arequipa's "Plaza de Armas" main square in about 10 minutes. Yanahuara is a proud neighborhood with its own page on ! The local municipality takes great pride in caring and protecting the historical value of the neighborhood. There are neighborhood festivals and activities year round.
Our neighborhood is a wonderful walking area, and you can also easily walk to downtown Arequipa's Plaza de Armas main square. An inexpensive taxi ride takes to you almost any location in the city of Arequipa as we are centrally located. 15 min. from the airport or main city bus terminal
This room is in the back of our home which makes it a very quiet space. The window to the room opens up into the center open courtyard of our home and sunshine pours in all day long. Note*The door also opens up to the hallway open courtyard. The closest bathroom is on the other side of the courtyard. On those few occasions In the "Winter" evenings (June July) where the mountain night air feels chilly, it can feel like you are stepping "outside" to walk around the corner so a pair of slippers can be helpful. The room is one of the warmest in the house during the Winter season but farthest from the bathroom.
Our home is smoke free - you are welcome to smoke outside on the street side but please no smoking inside courtyard or balcony. Pets are not allowed.
