I love interacting with my guests and am happy to give all kinds of inside tips about Austin's best spots. Or if you want silence, silence you shall receive.
There is a security camera in the laundry room on the right when you walk in. It is not in anyone's private space but helps keep my home safe. The only thing I see is who enters my front door and who leaves, helping me make sure there are never any inappropriate visitors. Sometimes the light comes on if its dark; please don't be startled.
-Please park in the LEFT driveway (right side is my neighbor's). This is extremely important because my neighbor has been blocked in his own garage on several occasions by my guests. That makes him very upset with me, as you can well imagine, and I can't keep buying him nice bottles of scotch each time it happens.
-The house is the one on the left. You'll see a few planter boxes, white gravel, a black gate and a shoe rack with a sign asking you to please remove your shoes.
-If I can't be home for some reason to greet you, the code to the smart lock is 1235. Put your finger on the digital pad and slide it down slowly. That usually wakes it up to reveal the digital number pad. If not, keep poking it and it'll wake up. Be patient if it's slow; it works. If for whatever diabolical reason it isn't responding, there's a physical key in the styrofoam cup near the black gate by the water hose. Use that key in the smartlock and place it back in the cup.
- If you in any way block my neighbor's driveway, he will breathe fire on you and tow your car. Park in the LEFT driveway, or up by the mailboxes just up the hill, or on the side street a hundred feet past the mailboxes called Southgate Circle. (This is the second notice about the same issue. That's how important it is, see?)
-If you plan to bring a pet, please contact me first so I can establish expectations. No aggressive dogs or dogs that bark loudly and often or have anxiety if you leave them. One pet maximum, please. I used to be a lot more relaxed about this but after several difficult experiences with guests and their aggressive or highly anxious dogs, I have to be more selective with the kinds of pets I'll allow to stay. It pains me to no end to watch furry critters cry all night while their owners are out. Thanks for your understanding.
-Please keep your shoes outside so that the inside stays clean and cozy.
-Because I have a neighbor, please keep music levels to a humane level for obvious reasons. Nobody likes the sound of insanely loud bass thumping across the wall. The walls are not thin, but at higher decibel levels, the sound does travel. Basic common sense here goes a super long way. You'd be surprised at how often people think 4am is a good time to start blasting Metallica.
-Use the Ride share App Lyft to get around town. Enter code "Bunk" to get a discount!
-Please read the house rules sheet on your nightstand which also has the wifi code written on it. : )

-It'll be my pleasure to host you, friends.
