This spacious room with a big bed and nice sofa makes your stay in Amsterdam relaxed and comfortable. Great public transport connects you with the exciting city centre of Amsterdam and free parking in the street gives you no extra costs when you arrive by car. Welcome to Amsterdam!

The apartment is on the third floor and the room is on the second floor of the apartment. That's also where the kitchen is. The bathroom and toilets are on the first floor of the apartment.
The room is spacious and there is a lot of day light. Don't worry for the mornings: there are curtains and black shutters to make your morning as short or as long as you want it to be. Make yourself at home while you have coffee and tea to your disposal.

There is good access to wifi and there is a cable television. A washer is also to your disposal if needed. When the sun shines, the balcony is a good option to dry your clothes.
Furthermore you will share the kitchen, the bathroom and the two toilets with four other people. We are all quite independent and everybody has their own room. They are very awesome and if you need any other information, don't hasitate to ask them; they will be happy to answer questions about anything you need to know for your Amsterdam trip.

Perhaps we will meet eachother on the day of your arrivial, but since I'm quite often away, there's a big chance somebody else will open the door and show you the room and apartment. This also means I will not stay in the apartment of your visit.
My phone will be always on though, so please feel free to contact me at any time while you're in Amsterdam. If you need anything else, my roomies will be happy to answer your questions, if they're around. We are very open indeed and travel quite often ourselves. However, please respect their privacy, they'll return the same favor to you.

The neighbourhood is nice and quiet. The apartments in the neighborhood are all rented to young professionals and families with children. The apartment is located near by the Stadion ArenA and the Ziggo Dome. Perfect if you come to visit a concert (both are 15 minutes walking). It is also close to several universities and big businesses, so it gives a nice mixture of different people.
A shopping centre is near by and is called Arena Poort with an H&M, HEMA, Post Office, Media Markt and Decathlon. Cinema Pathé is near as well. There's a supermarket (Albert Heijn, Lidl, Aldi) where you can do your groceries, but a lot of take away restaurants (Chinese, Surinames) and a cafeteria are just around the corner of the apartment.
Of course, if you go to the city center, the options are endless. The metro stop Venserpolder is a three minutes walk from where you'll stay and connects you to the city centre with a 10 minutes ride.

Arriving at Schiphol? Take the train that stops at Duivendrecht station. From there it is a ten minute walk to my place. You could also take a train to Amsterdam Central Station. From there you take metro 53 to Gaasperplas and get off at the stop Venserpolder.
Perhaps you will arrive at Amstel Station? In that case take the same metro as from Central Station, 53 to Gaasperplas. From the metro stop Venserpolder you are on a stone warp distance from where you will stay. All these stations, including Bijlmer ArenA, which is close to the place where you'll stay, connect you with other major Dutch cities such as The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Alkmaar, Haarlem and Leiden.
With line 53 you will also get easily to the Heineken brewery, flee market Waterlooplein and Albert Cuyp, Rembrandt square, entertainment areas Leidseplein and Nieuwmarkt, the Dam square, Rembrandt Museum, the Hermitage, Anne Frank House and many other Amsterdam sights.
Planning to go clubbing and return safely home in he middle of he night? That is possible too with the night bus that runs frequently from Rembrandt square and Central Station. Take bus 355 and get off at stop Dolingadreef. From there you cross the street, pass under the buildings and eventually you bump into the front door of my place at Dickenslaan. A ticket for the night ride costs around E 4,- and only cash is accepted in the bus.
For more information you can check out the app 9292ov or the national train app NS. However, when you have wifi(URL HIDDEN)Maps is the best. Before you leave the place, type in your route and it'll be visible on your phone even without wifi. And no, it doesn't cost anything. I myself find everything and it's accurate and 100% reliable.
For transportation within Amsterdam, I recommend you to rent a bike at Yellow Bike or one of the other rental places. They also have nice guided tours. It is very save to bike though, because everybody is used to it. Basically you're a king/queen on a bike in my hometown, but make sure you go with the cycling flow. However, the tram, bus or metro is a great alternative.
Happy and safe travels!

Since I live in a shared apartment, everybody expects from eachother to clean up their own mess. This goes for the bathroom/toilet, kitchen, balcony and the hallways.
Please note that smoking is not allowed inside the whole apartment and especially not inside the room! But since we have a huge balcony, you can make use of it to have your daily cigarette. Do not throw your stubs over the balcony; our neighbours downstairs could come up. And trust me, you don't want that... There's a pot where you can deposit your stub/cigarette.
Please take off your shoes when you're inside the room.

Just Perfect ! Nice host, clean room, confortable bed, coffee and tee, we felt like at home. Neighborhood is as calm as a countryside but really close to the metro. You are in the center in 20 minutes. There is a supermarket.

I returned recently from a stay at Igor's home. He was kind and very precise in his directions to the house, but also the means to take and sights of the city. It presented a very original and personalized room with the coffee and tea machine at complete disposal, and the towel, with a spacious and comfortable bed and warm environment. Finally, the house is not hard to reach from Central Station and is therefore well connected. Igor, thanks :)

Igor was very responsive and respond all my questions right before the trip. He is giving you the info you need so there were not many question left to be asked :) We met him at the city center to pick up the keys for the place, he was very kind and positive, explain us where to go and how what is the easiest way to get to its place. Later, we (me and my girlfriend) found the place easy, it's near to metro station "venserpolder" from there you can get very easy to the city center where all the places are located for about 15-20 min. The room was perfectly organized and prepared with everything we needed. The place was clean and provided all the extras that you need for couple of days. There was coffee, tea, towels, brochures on the table with all the places that we can go. I have to mention that the balcony was amazing, the view from there is very nice and beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and calm. I definitely recommend the place.

My name is Igor and I'm an actor and (theater) director. Originally I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but live since 1994 in Holland with my family. In 2010 Amsterdam became my precious hometown since my studies were at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
I like going to the (art house) cinema, listen to all kinds of music (and dance to it), and I love reading books; biographies and diaries are my favorite ones. Beside that, I go to the gym, do yoga and like to swim every now and then to get rid of all the stress from daily life. I'm a veggie, since I believe in a world were animals deserve a living with respect and love. Recently I also started working part time in a travel shop where I sell bags and small goods to travelers and Amsterdam expats. Please stop by at Property Of... for a cup of coffee and a free city guide created by locals.
While I'm away and enjoy my stay elsewhere in the world for holiday, travels or film shootings, you can enjoy my spacious room while Amsterdam's at your feet. Don't do anything I wouldn't and everything will be fine ;-) Wonder what that is? Please ask me; I'm an open minded guy and learning from others is what I aspire. Cheers, Igor
