À propos de ce logement
Sleep your fuzzy little head in one of our 3 beds and become part of our family of transient creatives. The Pinkhouse is an 1865 cottage where a growing collection of wandering artists gather to collaborate, eat, sleep and dream.
This 1865 cottage is a cozy little sanctuary - with original floors, beautiful fireplaces and a huge, fenced in yard that includes yolohaus, the cottage and Jengo's Playhouse - a facility for creatives and the headquarters of the Cucalorus Film Festival. Two bedrooms have queen size beds. One bedroom has a double bed and the small den off of the kitchen has a futon that can be made up as a full size bed. There is a large private bathroom and a great kitchen. So the house is a great space for any size group - from one to five. There is a great eat-in kitchen and a nice back deck that looks out over Jengo's Backyard. The backyard is fully fenced, private and connects all four of the properties. The owner has a private bedroom with a separate entrance at the back of the house.
We also have a small cottage (in the backyard) and another house (right next door) as separate listings if you need space for a few more people. We can also set you up with a fire pit and some other fun stuff in the backyard on request. You have 24 hour access to the backyard and can wander into Jengo's Playhouse whenever a resident artist or a Cucalorus staffer is around.
This is up to you. There are sometimes events taking place at Jengo's Playhouse. We have a dog or two roaming around usually and the studios at Jengo's are open. Dan Brawley, the big cheese at Cucalorus, lives somewhere on the property and is usually around if he's not at a film festival or hiding in South America.
The Jengo's Playhouse compound is located just nine blocks from the Cape Fear River and only 8 blocks from Front Street - the best spot for entertainment and dining in historic downtown Wilmington. And we're half a block from the City's main fire department, so we got that going for us.
Public transit in Wilmington is limited. There is a free trolley that circulates people through downtown Wilmington. Depending on weather and the time of day, downtown is an excellent place for walking.
We have a 47 seat micro-cinema inside Jengo's Playhouse - so if you want to host a little screening for your friends let us know. Also, we have a secret screening now and then, so you might be able to wander in and discover the best movie of your life.

There are usually folks around the campus who you can hang out with if you want to. I am here about half the time - when I'm not traveling to film festivals or doing yoga in South America. When I'm not here, our campus caretaker is on-call to help you with anything you might need - from restaurant suggestions to blankets and light switches.
Just enjoy yourself and feel free to explore. We're a transient community of creative individuals with a passion for life and love. We're around if you want to hang. Don't steal our stuff or burn the house down.

I'm a dreamer, a traveler and a hard working man. I've been the lead organizer of the Cucalorus Film Festival since 1999. My dog Izzie and I walk all the time and I do lots of yoga. The Jengo's Playhouse residency compound is an experimental community of transient creatives. Join us...
