Enjoy your own space in this one bedroom (double bed) character cottage which is within easy walking distance of the historic village of Russell. Cosy in winter and with a spacious deck for summer which includes BBQ, it is ideal affordable space. A separate building ("sleep-out") makes it a flexible space for families providing bunk beds, sofa bed and bathroom. Great location in the stunning Bay of Islands, with easy access to all amenities.
The cottage is an old one-bedroom character cottage which has been extensively refurbished inside with modern bathroom and small kitchen. We have just recently totally repainted the exterior so it is now completely refurbished, cosy and comfortable. The bedroom is quite small with a double bed, which leads on to a large ensuite bathroom which is a full wet room. The lounge houses the small kitchen as well as dining table and sofa. Outside a spacious deck & BBQ is available for outdoor dining. Originally designed for an elderly lady, there are ramps and easy access to the property.
The cottage is on a large section so for families or larger groups there is a newly built garage which holds bunks, bed settee and its own bathroom that can sleep up to an additional 4 people. With plenty of space on the garden, there's even room for a tent or the boat. Russell township is a short 5 minutes walk away on the flat, or the Russell Boat Club is just over the road. Long Beach is a 15 minute walk over the hill, or a couple of minutes by car. The cottage has its own own deck, so there is plenty of space for outdoor dining or head into town with a wide range of great restaurants. There's also room for the boat or jetski outside, so it's the perfect Russell home base for your family holiday in the Bay of Islands.
The property is on the main road into town can get busy during the height of summer with traffic when ferries arrive, but the living space and bedroom is at the rear of the property.

Born in England, with a kiwi father and English mother, I moved over here permanently to live in 1990. My working career was in ICT and telecommunications but my husband Geoff and I decided to head to Russell in the Bay of Islands for a more relaxed lifestyle. I now run a tall ship, am on a couple of boards, a volunteer ambulance officer and busier now than I ever was in my full time career! Geoff has also just retired from an IT career and and is kept very busy with lots of projects including a 52ft boat that he is building in our back garden. He is a volunteer firefighter so occasionally we end up on jobs together. We have two cats which we spoil dreadfully!
