Le quartier

Ideal for individual or couple wanting to enjoy the best of SF living without the urban angst.

near swanky new kid friendly Emeryville park and off Hollis in quiet, safe neighborhood on Doyle. Arizmendi amazing collective bakery is a short bike's ride away. Walk along bike path with Bocce court along greenway only 3 blocks to new Berkeley Bowl West, ...legendary produce store of Alice Waters fame ... or stroll Hollis for cafe's such as The Actual Cafe, Farley's Bucci's, Cocina Poblana and Prizefighter... also walking distance to Ironworks (best east bay climbing gym), 7th heaven yoga and Square One Yoga studios....and lots of coffee shops. Trader Joe's is about 3/4 mile as is the EmeryBay mall with movie theatres an Apple store and IKEA.

The space is great and in a very cool area of the Bay area. ..Emeryville is the best area for both safety and accessibility for loft spaces in the East Bay. It's the closest East Bay location to the city which is 15 minutes in light travel, more if it's raining or rush hour. Free Emery-go-round shuttle to MacArthur BART (the main hub) is 1 block from loft. Amtrak station is 3 blocks within walking distance. Location is in "weburbia" just down the street from Leapfrog and Cliff can enjoy easy non-permit parking and avoid cramped daily living of the city over here in Emeryville. We have the best access to the city loft living.

Free emery-go-round shuttle straight to shopping and BART metro station MacArthur

Autres remarques

Just a reminder that this is a private room rental within a loft shared by tenants. Occasionally and with some advanced notice the whole loft can be rented out which would make it suitable for 6 people as there is a comfy double sleeper bed available in the main living space. When whole loft is available there are 2 private bedrooms with their own bath and additional queen in the main space with half bath. Very comfy for an entire family.

Amazing place! Great location - close to San Francisco and Oakland while still being a residential area! Very comfortable accommodations and friendly hosts. Wish I could've stayed longer. Would definitely recommend.

I stayed here for five days to attend a conference in SF. This place is placed in quiet and cozy district. I really love the Loft which is at the third floor of the house. Everything in need was well prepared including good quality towel. Room was larger than we expect, and balcony was alao very nice. Especially, I really loved the bed!! Fernando and Christina was very welcoming and kind. They borowed two bikes while they were away for camping on the weekend. The shower room was only placed in the second floor, but never congested during our stay. And there are very very good restaurant for breakfast named Doyle Street Cafe, you guys should visit there. I would definitely visit here if I have a chance to stay in Berkeley area.

Ethnography, conservation photography and traveller...
based in Bay Area....
outdoors aficionado and dislikes the excessive use of the word aficionado...

Attempting to escape the bucolic town of his youth Fernando's right
brain grew up on a diet of National Geographics strewn across the
coffee table, Jolly Rancher's hidden in the sock drawer and Jacque Cousteau/ Marlin Perkins wildlife adventure specials on TV.

Once in college and counseled to find something useful to study
Fernando's left brain backed into a Psychology major by accruing
sufficient credits although it was a toss up between that and
Philosophy. Finding neither head in the clouds academia nor clinical
research on rats appealing he went back to Art School much to his
father's dismay.

In Art School working with his hands and making something more actual , prints of images, he was much happier. So he went travelling to pursue his lifelong passion
in ethnography and cultures. The backpack finally came off 10 years later after travel assignments in Spain, Turkey, Thailand and Patagonia.

Now he shoots in a studio and on location for advertising and corporate clients.
Yes I know it sounds like a sell out but I'm too old for discounts on
student travel.
