We were driving from The Black Forest to Lower Saxony. Ochsenfurt was an ideal place to stay overnight. To reach this central B&B we found it an easy walk from the river-side car park with our overnight bags. We found the picturesque centre a delight to stroll during the early evening. For supper we happily dined al fresco at the Gasthof zum Anker, enjoying a beer from the local Oechsner private brewery. We slept really well. There was an abundant Breakfast. Our hosts were a delight, kindly offering us a parting pastry for our journey North.
It was a pleasure to stay in this wonderful seventeenth century bedroom, a big room with a cosy atmosphere! It is located right by all the shops and restaurants but set back away from the main street, so quiet. Melanie met us to check in, we were exhausted from cycling for the past 2 days but she took our bikes away for us and told us where to eat. Thanks as we had great wine and food that evening! Breakfast the following morning was perfect before a day of cycling. The best part was staying in such an old building with wooden beams, it was better than we could have hoped. Thanks!
Our stay at the B&B was one of the highlights of our journey through Germany. The historic location of the listing and it's history as a renovated stable add to the charm of your visit. As a host, Melanie is kind, engaging, courteous, and a wonderful host; her welcoming smile was a lovely way to begin our stay. The B&B is a "labor of love" and it shows through every detail that she and Robin have put a great deal of time and passion into their lovely listing. Melanie's attention to detail will be evident to you in every aspect of your stay, and especially in the lovely breakfast she arranges for you; every detail was thoughtfully and artistically displayed. Our stay with Melanie was one of the best parts of our trip. Thank you Melanie for your kindness and hospitality, people like you are one of the best parts of traveling and discovering the beautiful world around us.
