I have used Airbnb once before and had a really good experience. However, this time it was quite the opposite. I will begin with (most probably the only) best thing about the place was that it was at a very good location. The Grove Station was only 2mins walk and it was very central to all the landmarks of NYC with in a reasonable price. Having said that, the apartment itself was not well kept and messy. The room was not clean either and it had a stench. Plus the person who was renting it was not acting professional. He was using Airbnb the first time and apparently did not know that he can not charge any extra money after I have already paid on the site. He wanted me to pay extra for heating. Also he complained that he only received $280 from the site where as I had paid $330 in total for 5 nights. Obviously its not my problem and he should have done his research before putting up a listing in Airbnb. I hope that he can resolve these issues so it can genuinely become a great listing.
