Description

Enjoy complete privacy and 500+ square feet of living space in our ground floor suite.
There is one king bed and one queen bed, and kitchenette. Plenty of living space both indoors and out.

This is really a nice, cozy apartment - with ample living space!

Pull into a private garage that is attached to your suite. There is a full sized refrigerator in the garage you may use.

From the garage you enter a serene sunroom flooded with bright, natural light. This room perfect for reading or to enjoy a glass of wine. The radiant floors in this room are super cozy on your feet during the winter, and year round you can enjoy the great view of the woods.

Take a left through french doors into your living room, and stretch out on the large sectional sofa and enjoy a program on the big screen cable TV. Order take out and sit down at your 4 person dining table.

We just installed a new kitchenette in this suite, with Keurig coffee service, toaster oven, microwave, mini-fridge and electric griddle (great to make pancakes or grilled cheese sandwiches). Big cooking is done outside on a good quality gas BBQ grill with side burner. It is for the exclusive use of our guests, and is directly outside your suite, on a newly built alfresco patio with picnic table.

The bedroom has a roomy closet and a king bed. The bed can remain a king or can be separated into twins.

The three piece bathroom has a shower. We have lots of complimentary toiletries to use, if you forget something.

A queen sized, good quality air mattress with 3 inch memory foam mattress topper is set up in the living area, and there are black out curtains for the comfort of those sleeping there.

All bed linens are 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets.

Another set of french doors in the sun room take you outside, steps away from a large in-ground pool to enjoy from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. If you want to take a snooze or read a book and listen to the birds, there is a hammock nestled between two shade trees on the side of the house. There are two swings for the kids. We also have lawn games for the family to enjoy: soccer balls, a croquet set, Frisbee and boccie ball.

On cool evenings you may come up to our family deck and enjoy a nice fire in the outdoor fireplace, any season of the year. Just ask!

Ground floor suite. Attached garage. Pool. Hammock. Swings. Lawn games. BBQ and outdoor dining area.

Our family will not enter the ground floor suite while you are staying with us. You will have complete privacy. However, we will be on hand either in person, or by phone/email, if you need some help or have a question.

Enjoy classic Connecticut country living. We have a gorgeous yard, with three acres of nature, trees and privacy. There are a number of excellent walking and biking trails in Monroe. Good restaurants. The town park has wonderful amenities. However, our back yard is probably all you will need for your stay: hammock, pool, lawn games, BBQ and fireplace. Come and relax!

You'll need a car. We are an hour to Hartford CT, 2 1/2 hours to Boston and only 90 minutes to Midtown Manhattan. There is train service to/from NYC from Bridgeport, CT. We are a 25 minute drive from the train station. It is a 90 minute train ride to Grand Central Station in NYC.

We have an extensive list of restaurants (and menus) in the area. Several deliver. We've also listed popular sites of interest and local amenities and services.

POOL
Pool is open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Children must be accompanied by an adult when on the pool deck.

Hello! We are the Laleman's. We are a tight knit family of four. My husband (Aster) and I in our early fifties...married for nearly 30 years. Life is good!

Our children are essentially full grown, but we're enjoying our time together before they are out of college and on their own. Our dog, a friendly little Maltese, named Lexa, completes our family portrait.

We enjoy food, entertaining and travel. We like visiting and meeting people from new and interesting locales and different cultures. We are excited about opening the ground floor of our home to visitors. Jokingly, we have always said we should hang a vacancy sign on the house. We've had many guests stay with us over the years; so becoming an Airbnb host family seems like a natural step.

We have family in Europe and across the United States. We've had 14 nannies and au pairs live with us over the years, all hailing from different parts of the world. Our family has been deeply enriched by the warmth and generosity of these young women. We've also hosted four Chinese teenage boys, who came to town on an educational and cultural exchange.

Retirement is a concept that we're beginning to think about, well, 10 or 15 years in advance. Hey, at least we're being proactive! We're considering where we may want to retire to when we're older. Our plan is to travel, enjoying other Airbnb families and properties to explore prospective communities where we may want to live in the coming years.

We understand that you are trusting us to either provide you with a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, or with your home, if we are a guest of yours. We will do our best to honor either situation.

We look forward to meeting you!

Marybeth and Aster
