First of all, "Pipimateh" is not even her real name. I do not know how Airbnb allow this to slip thru to allow this person to do an instant booking at our property in Times Square.
When I asked if her name was really "Pipimateh Pipimateh", she admitted it is not. So I asked her what is her name, she said to "just call me 'Ms Lim'!
For security & the care of the property for host, we find this very hard to accept as we do not know how to verify the booking with ID upon check-in.
Still, we went ahead, as always albeit a few bad experiences & let her check in.
When she ask for early check in prior, I had immediately answered her, informing that we cant be certain as we have yet to find out what time the prior guest is checking out & that our usual check out time is before 12pm. Our check in time is stated as after 2pm. This is documented in our Airbnb chat & listing.
She then asked for my contacts, which made me even more wary & I told her she should have it in her booking confirmation email, together with the address, direction & instruction of where to go in Times Square.
On the day of her arrival, she called to ask for early check in again at 0942hr. I told her it's not possible as the guest is checking out at 12pm.
She called again at 1210hr asking for check-in for the 3rd time. Its perplexing how 'Ms Lim' must think that we can clean up 1070sqf 2-bedroom apartment in 10 minutes. Besides it's stated in our listing that we have other apartments in Times Square. Anyway eventhou I find her self-centered, I told her politely that we'll rush it for her to check in at 1pm instead of 2pm.
When we didnt see her at the East Tower lobby at 1pm, I called her at 1310hr. She said to wait for her as she's playing bowling in the mall!
She called me at 1329hr to inform she's on her way now but cannot find the service apartment. When I tried to identify her location by asking what level she is & what shop can she see, 1 of the most ridiculous reply I ever heard was, ' I dont know! We are not from here, we come from Singapore (what an insult to S'porean as they have more malls than KL)! I had to ask her to calm down & ask any shop what level she is at or how to get to the service apartment. She ask me to come meet her. I told her that is why I need to know where to go. At that point she hung up after saying she know the way now (??).
When she called again at 1343hr, complaining rudely how hard it is to find, she being a girl having to carry 2 heavy luggages (as if it is my fault!), where is the person with the key etc, I just had to shut her rant & told her 'you have alot to complain-huh?" It work & she stopped. She must be taken aback that someone wont put up with her spoil behavior.
Expectation of accommodation is subjective. So you have the right to your say. Do remember that you paid S$147 for your 1 night stay for the 5 of you. Perhaps Times Square Hotel which shares the same facilities with the apartment, might be suited better for you. Just be willing to pay S$268. Although I do not think they will send someone to go look for you if you cant find the entrance.
So that's my take on Pipimateh Pipimateh aka Ms Lim (I cannot verify authenticity though). Given her intellect, I probably would hide my real identity too
I DO NOT recommend her to any host due to the above scenario. She's definitely self centered. Be prepared to let er make you wait But she wont wait for you for even 5 minutes & she will claimed its half hour.
Airbnb should not allow people like her to even register & use the site. There's no telling if she is real & what damage can she do.
