Description

Built in 1899, fully restored in 2010 in the classic mountain theme, this chalet is situated in the heart of Davos village within easy walking distance to everything. The perfect place for skiing, golf, hiking or biking. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 85m2

The Silverbirch Chalet is a charming and romantic traditional Swiss chalet, furnished to the highest standards. It comfortably sleeps 4 in two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. An excellent location in Davos, within walking distance to shops, grocers, bakery, restaurants, bars, and both the Parsenn ski gondola (providing access to the largest ski area in the region) and the Davos 18-hole golf course. Despite its central location, the house is completely private, situated on its own 400 m2 fenced and wooded lot. Perfect for one or two couples or a small family, seeking privacy and tranquility whilst being situated in the heart of the village.


Amenities include luxury towels and linens, Nespresso coffee, broadband Wifi, ultra flatscreen TV's in both bedrooms, and a Bose iPod audio system. Infant bed (100 cm), infant chair, baby phone on request. There is a woodstove fireplace (unlimited firewood), and a fully equipped open kitchen. Davos Tourist Tax included. Private garaged parking for 1 car is available. Cleaning following departure included.

We will not be present during your stay, but there is a chalet manager who is available during your stay.

In winter, the region is most famous for its alpine skiing, however it is also one of the top destinations for cross-country skiing. In addition, there are 12km of prepared Nordic Walking Tours along with approximately 30 groomed and marked winter walking trails of various lengths and difficulty levels. Tobogganing/sledging (total of 10km of prepared runs), paragliding, horseback riding, ice climbing, snowshoe trekking, and ice skating (5 minutes walk from the chalet) are just a few of the possibilities.

Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding
Davos-Klosters ski region is one of the largest and most "snow-sure" in Switzerland, with 6 ski areas to choose from providing over 320 km of slopes. The largest of these, the Parsenn ski gondola (Parsennbahn) which connects Davos with Klosters, is a 6 minute walk from the chalet. A short public bus ride through the village (the bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the chalet) takes you to the Jacobshorn or Schatzalp ski areas. Also accessible by public bus (10-15 minutes) is the Rinerhorn and Pischa ski areas. Farther down the valley in Klosters, is the Madrisa ski area. Many other ski areas, such as St. Moritz and Lenzerheide are easily accessible by car.

For those little ones who are just starting out, the beginners children's slope is situated 50 meters from the chalet.

Touring and Freeriding
The Davos-Klosters area also has a reputation for unparalleled off-piste, backcountry freeriding, and touring with experienced and certified mountain guides locally available to organise everything from a day of lift-access off-piste powder skiing to overnight backcountry hut trips.

Cross-country skiing
Davos provides 46km of prepared ski-skating and 77km of prepared classical cross-country ski trails (including the FIS Nordic World Cup loop), with 2.5km of lighted night trails. The main Davos village loop passes approximately 50m from the front door of the chalet. All Cross-country skiing in the Davos-Klosters area is free of charge and the Nordic ski centre features lockers, rental equipment, showers, and a restaurant.

It is worth noting that Davos is also famous across Switzerland for its excellent apres-ski and fine dining restaurants.

In summer, Davos is popular as a hiking and walking destination, featuring hundreds of kilometers of marked trails in addition to being renown for spectacular alpine golf. However, water sports, Nordic Walking, paragliding, rock climbing, tennis, and horseback riding are just some of the other activities available in Davos.
GOLF:

Seven minutes walk from the chalet is the Golf Club Davos (18 hole, par 68, altitude 1650m above sea level) offering spectacular mountain play, open from end May until mid-Oct. There is also a 9 hole course in Klosters, 10 minutes drive from the chalet. In the region, there are 6 other mountain golf courses less than a one hour drive from Davos.
SAILING AND WINDSURFING

The Lake of Davos offeres the possibility to sail, windsurf, and swim. Sailboats and windsurfing equipment can be rented from the Davos Sports Centre at the lake, which is a 15 walk from the chalet. There is also a volleyball court, pedalos, a restaurant, a recreation lawn for picnics, and a bathing beach (the lake reaches 20 degrees celius in the summer).
MOUNTAIN BIKING

Davos-Klosters is recognized as one of the most attractive mountain trail riding and single-track destinations in Switzerland. Most known as the start point of the 10'000m elevation Freeride tour, which takes advantage of 5 of the area cable cars. Multiple tours on the well-prepared and marked trails are possible, from easy to highly-technical. All official tours can be downloaded to a portable GPS tracker, or guides are locally available for hire.

1 hr 40 mins by car to Zurich airport or 2 hr 30 mins by train or in the winter Saturdays by shuttle bus.


Davos tourist cards included. With this you have free local bus transportation and discounts on activities.

We have been very happy, that we choose this Chalet. It's great location, inside was very clean and very well equipped. There is nothing to make it better :). We would like to come back definitely.
